"The Passtronaut"

He interned at NASA and graduated with a degree in aerospace engineering. Might very well be the most intelligent 49ers QB ever.

Yeah, I think that's in the cards for Sam or anyone, if they ball out. You get a halfway decent QB in Minny they are probably gonna ball out. That's JJ and Addison with TJ Hock and now Aaron Jones and a HC who played QB and schemes guys open. So Baker is a good model if I am Sam to shoot for.

Definitely agree with that. Sam landed in a good spot… and if he plays well (and they don't draft a 1st round rookie), he'll get paid like an actual starter like Baker.

Best looking QB
Best value QB
Best thrower in franchise history QB
Most intelligent QB

and Trey Lance.

Doesn't necessarily translate to the field. He does some really dumb stuff while under pressure but his ability to pick up complex concepts will endear him to Kyle.

He's up to 300 lbs and will play Right Tacke. Don't you know?

To me it's changed my entire outlook on how to approach the QB market, give me Baker or Darnold for $10m over Lance for 3 ones. Give me Dobbs for $2.25 m. Give me BP for 950k for 4 years. Build up the team, and find some cheap QB who can run your stuff. The draft is for suckers, like CHI keeps finding out over and over. They took Mitch Trubisky over Mahomes, Fields for a one and sold for a 6th, and now they think they are gonna get it right? We shall see.
I like it. He would slightly change the offense so a defense would have to change up a bit.

Why not? He did some good things with the Titans last seasons and the Cards and the Vikings this season.
He played in Kevin O'Connell's offense with the Vikings.
He's athletic, he can scramble.
Not bad. He's not worse than Darnold honestly.

He did beat the Cowboys for their first loss as I recall last year?

I like this. He came in for the vikings in impossible circumstances and did well. Finally we got a decent qb2

Until he absolutely sucked ass. He's better than Nick Mullens I guess.

It's just a hard ask, no one really comes in midseason and dominates, other than maybe Garoppolo
Also 49ers can now recreate this beauty

love this signing

and it means no Zach WIlson, so I double like it

Not every team has the coach you have decided to hate on, lol. And Baker had a nice season but Tampa is not a real threat with him at QB. They won a piss poor division and won a playoff game against a team in freefall.

There's no better place to find a franchise QB than at the top of round 1. It's still not even a 50 percent proposition… but easily the most likely spot. The history of the NFL will show you this, as I tried to in the other thread. Relying on medicore talent or trying to find a once in a generation diamond in the rough, is not a recipe for winning championships or consistently contending with rare exception (like having Kyle Shanahan as your coach).
