Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Emmanuel Sanders also a comp for Aiyuk a little earlier in his career?

I don't think they are that similar. Sanders is fast on timed speed. Aiyuk is fine but not blazing. He just runs real crisp, good routes. With good hands. When he was in shape at least.

Pearsall and Emmanuel Sanders have the exact same timed 40 at the combine: 4.41

They might be a comparison. Or Adam Thielan who was 4.45. Aiyuk was 4.50. He does it with route running. At least when in shape and not missing training camp.
My boy slick Rick is an extra good mood today.

Two TDs. One in the redzone and 46 yard catch and run.

Wouldn't surprise me. I'm basing my prediction on a few things.

-extra prep time from the bye week
-in better game shape
-more understanding of the offense
-kyle cooking up new plays
-the CMC effect on the passing game

all signs point to Pearsall having an arrival game

Aiyuk ran with an injury he's faster than 4.50

He doesn't look much faster than that. He doesn't separate that well on deep routes. He just runs good routes on the short to medium stuff. He's good at cuts and change of direction. That's how he gets open. Not deep speed. Where he doesn't have as much as Chase. Or even Pearsall for that matter.

You don't need elite speed to be an effective down field WR. Davante Adams is just one prime example of that. Mike Evans is catching bombs still.

BA's Y/R was elite level last yr. All these WRs in the NFL are "fast". understanding coverages, winning off the LOS and being able to catch the ball matter wayyy more than .3 secs of a 40 time.

Ever watch those side by side comparisons of 2 or more players that they do during the combine. The difference between a 4.5 and a 4.4 guy isn't great at 40 yards. Then you factor in that some guys are faster with football gear than others and that difference can be nothing. Plus some guys get into and out of their cuts quicker and are able to get off the initial block bette

Put it all together and those 40 times at the combine are virtually meaningless in most cases. What happens in the game is all that counts. There are times when flat out speed comes in play. We saw it last night when Chase took a pass over the middle and just outran the defense but those types of plays don't happen a lot. I'll take a receiver that runs good routes and has good hands over a fast guy that isn't a polished receiver.
