He played alot of snaps, almost every snap I believe. Brock just didn't look his way. He was constantly locked on Jennings and CMC. I think Pearsall had 2 targets. one was to him in triple coverage and the throw wasn't close and the other one I think he was open but the ball got tipped at the line.

Just another guy who can't get separation.

Every snap ? He barely played before the second half. They went jumbo with bringing Moore over on a lot of plays and I saw Conley on there. Deebo and Jennings 2WR sets were dominant.
In the second half, he played more

Tired of hearing about lack of separation, a stat only charted on a pass at the catch point. Pearsall wide open over the middle. pic.twitter.com/qP7s3R13CM

lmao rich roasting these dudes. He must be my long-lost brother.
You'd actually have to have a strong arm to throw that pass ..anticipating everything with a noodle arm isn't the way .

Not saying he's a bad WR, but his are traits you can easily find in a 3rd-4th round player.

These clips show the same s**t all his college highlights show. Free releases from the slot. We need to see him beating some press tight man coverage. This clips don't show that. He's running free in zone coverage. That's not creating separation.

He's been hanging around Deebo a lot lately; just saying.

This guy looks like a 3rd round player. Not seeing a 1st round talent here. Nothing sticks out about his game at all.

Pearsall isn't open on that play. The S # 20 Love is sitting on the in breaker. If Purdy throws it with elite anticipation it's still either picked or a hospital ball. Pearsall needs to run that route at a more "acute" angle so that he isn't running right into Love.

Meh..... you know what they say about sample size....
Guy has created big chunk plays in half the games he has been in....When you land on a team that has CMC, Kittle, Deebo and Jennings...the pecking order for a rookie is not really a reflection on his talent.
This is not too unlike the team Jerry Rice landed on, not so top heavy on WR talent, and clearly the Current 49ers have a better TE and an arguably more prestigious RB....but the point is kinda the same....there is a pecking order in an offense, and the is seldom skewed in the direction of a rookie...even if that rookie is Jerry Rice.
First 4 games for both
Ricky
Game 1 21 yards
Game 2 77 yards
Game 3 73 yards
Game 4 0 yards
Jerry
Game 1 67 yards
Game 2 28 yards
Game 3 94 yards
Game 4 0 yards
Jerry had Joe F-ing Montana throwing to him, under GD Bill Walsh... With Craig, Tyler, Russ Francis, Solomon and the Ghost of Dwight Clark in front of him on the depth chart.
That is probably pretty comparable to having JJ and a fading Deebo in front of Ricky... CMC and Kittle are probably somewhat comparable to a PEAK Craig and Francis, but clearly Kittle is light years more of a priority then Francis, and CMC is probably somewhat comparable to a lower volume Craig.
Point is....it would be DUMB to judge a player during his first 4 games as a rookie, when the team has established high end skill players in front of him.

Prime Adam Thielen was a 1200+ yard receiver. He had a 14 touchdown season.
I'd be thrilled with that production.
