Another horrible pick. And I don't even blame RP. But what idiots spend a 1st round pick on a guy who is there 4th option?

He's pathetic. 24 year old rookie receiver needs help knowing where to lineup. Doesn't know if he's the X or Z receiver,
the gunshot isn't an excuse. It's week 15.

Nonsense. He's being paid to do a simple thing of get lined up correctly:
He can't do that? Better find another line of work.

I think his first round draft status probably puts more pressure than not
(my question wasnt about his status on the team, but when him being shot will be stopped used as an excuse for procedural mistakes)

1st round rookies should typically get 2 years in the league before the pressure to produce is put on them of course this is assuming they are a great teammate...but Pearsall should get more time because of a horrible off the field incident that delayed his start.

Coaching comes into play if the player doesn't know where to line up and yet he is on the field during games. It's not like it happened once during the game, he was penalized for lining up incorrectly twice!

Not lining up in the correct formation is never excusable. Lining up correctly is the first thing you need to know when running a play. I have seen this too many times and what it tends to is ignorance and a lack of coaching. I saw in SB47 the first play from scrimmage the Niners ran, was a 20yd pass to Vernon Davis which was called back because of an illegal formation. Harbaugh did not have his guys ready. And, it showed in the game. Coach Walsh wouldn't tolerate it and neither would Joe.

Rookie WRs in the modern NFL typically come in and produce right away. Check Nabers, Jettas, Jamar Chase, Puka Nacua, Rome Odunze and MHjr are enjoying productive rookie campaigns. Look at Lad McConkey. List goes on... and then there's pearsall with 17 catches
