As I said earlier, we needed a strong route-runner who could beat man coverage. AT THE TIME, Aiyuk was a big question mark as to whether of not he would remain in SF. Consequently, in a sense, he forced the FO to grab Pearsall. Last night showed the wisdom of that move.

Pearsall looked great but we have to consider how bad Detroit's defense is right now.. Since week 13 they've really struggled. Played the Bears who have a terrible offense twice and allowed 20 and 17 points. That's a lot for the Bears. The Niners scored 34 and could have been over 40. They haven't topped 40 all year and only scored 30 once (against the Bears ) since the bye.
