I would have preferred either an Edge or OT but there was no value left for either of those two.

As I said earlier, we needed a strong route-runner who could beat man coverage. AT THE TIME, Aiyuk was a big question mark as to whether of not he would remain in SF. Consequently, in a sense, he forced the FO to grab Pearsall. Last night showed the wisdom of that move.

Now let's go fix both lines in this next draft...

Pearsall looked great but we have to consider how bad Detroit's defense is right now.. Since week 13 they've really struggled. Played the Bears who have a terrible offense twice and allowed 20 and 17 points. That's a lot for the Bears. The Niners scored 34 and could have been over 40. They haven't topped 40 all year and only scored 30 once (against the Bears ) since the bye.

141 as a rookie is crazy rare. Behind a line made of practice squaders to boot.

T.O. didnt do it.
Taylor didn't do it.
Aiyuk didn't do it.
Deebo didn't do it.
Crabtree didn't do it.
Kittle didn't do it.

Appreciate it.

Need Pearsall in 2025. We cant rely on BA and Deebo.

We really don't, he's a rookie who missed a ton of the offseason and season. He just put up 141 and a td. Nothing more to discuss.
I think the hold up for Pearsall is just getting all the nuance down. He pretty much missed the whole offseason even before he got shot, so he was really repping it on the fly when he came back
None of these stats matter in a garbage game. Pettis had 800 yards in his first season

It matters a lot. It's the best we have seen him look in a full game. He showed flashes sometimes. But he had excellent separation, speed, great routes, tremendous hands, good production. He looked very good. The potential is there.

His top out was 467 yards for the 49ers. The most he ever had. LOL.

Well then we have to consider "how bad" the niners OL is right now as well.

I wanted Powers Johnson or Frazier seemed like a no brainer to me, you only take Pearsall there if you've already decided to move on from Aiyuk in my opinion.

Why would you do this when it's so easily fact checked

...and that was the issue. They didn't want to move on from him but he had made it clear HE was ready to move on if they didn't meet his demands. To do that, it would have imbalanced their plans for future signings. If you recall, Lynch was on the phone with Pittsburgh making the final deal when BA walked into Kyle's office and said he wanted to stay in SF. Kyle was jazzed to hear this and RAN up the stairs to Lynch's office to tell him not to finish the deal. Had they not drafted Pearsall they would have had to pay near-Jefferson money to keep him. We came that close to a cap mess.

Yes, it would have been nice to have a center, but again, that is in hindsight. Brendel had improved during the 2023 season and given hope he would continue. Of course, we all know that failed but hindsight is always 20/20. It is what it is. I'm glad we have Pearsall and trust the focus will be on the LOS come draft time.
