And yeah, I did like Pettis initially when he was a rookie and did well. I was wrong and he didn't pan out. Never over hyped him at all, contrary to what you are trying to spin

Sometimes players just aren't the right fit for whatever reason. I've seen some former 49er plyers who are doing well with other teams even though they struggled here. I've seen Whitherspoon making plays with the Rams that he never made with the Niners.

the more I hear this kid talk, the more I like him. He's got tons of heart, loves the game, is hungry. He could be a special player. I know we passed on some elite prospects to take him, but It coulda gone different ways. Fortunate that we got a good football player.
