Dont you have to have a comphresive big board accounting for all factors including scheme fit, character, team scouting. The accountability of analysts post draft is zero. In general, a team gets to pick once every 32 times which means you have to reach if you dont think that player will be around when you pick next. The word reach is very loose and opinionated when it comes to the draft.

hey man you thought 2nd all day. Good call.

I've seen some folks comp him to L'jarius Sneed and that was always in the back of my mind when watching him at FSU

No idea how this guy wasn't a at least a 2nd round pick. Athletic, though, can play both man and zone. What he did vs LSU was damn impressive, I would be shocked if he's not a starter at some point this season.

Not that big (6'0 186) or fast (4.49) and older (23) so physically more mature than other prospects, only one interception in college (lots of pass breakups his senior year though so he has ball skills). He was a consensus late 3rd-early 4th round pick. Maybe other teams liked him too but there were a lot of decent corners available in the 3rd-4th rounds.

The sights I was looking at had him going between pick 80-90 he usually didn't make it to our third pick. He was ahead of Andru Phillips who WAS picked 6 spots after we took Green. We have really reached for Kickers, Punters and TE's recently, it's not going to kill us to reach a little for a quality CB.

People bringing up consensus big boards bothers me…like you said it wasn't kicker in the 2nd or Billy Bob that we all know is a late day 3 guy.

it's one thing to make your own big board/have grades on guys…for example I didn't think Rosengarten was a top 50 guy, let alone a 1st rd pick…that was my opinion on me watching him (liked him still). I also thought Kinglsey was a late 1st/early 2nd guy. Didn't go until the second to last pick in the 2nd.

Also like you said it's one thing to look at Joe blow's big board….folks need to realize that every team has different needs and schemes that fit only certain guys. Toss in medicals and personality. It changes what the Kiper's of the world projected.

You should be happy too? Got the guy that played the most man and some believe the best at it in the draft!
Damn, this dude's tackling and hitting is nasty. Impressive rep taking on the kicker on this counter bash and then getting the QB. He probably would've gotten chewed out if he didn't make the tackle himself, tho. I love the confidence.

tackling/hitting man corners Niners saw KC and said, "yeah, we need that."

Everybody needs a Sneed
Watched more tape on this guy and one thing that pops out is his stop and acceleration. I know i read about those things in his scout profile but god damn...its insane watching it. Run stop and go's or in/out routes on this guy wont work. If the receiver does catch it, they getting tackled quick. As someone who plays CB in competitive flag football, that s**t is hard. I need to see what workouts this guy is doing haha. But overall, i think we got a gem. Definitely gonna allow us to let Ward walk next season.

Maiocco seems convinced he'll be competing to be the starting nickel. 71 percent of Green's defensive snaps over the last 2 seasons came lined up out wide.

No way he's the slot CB, IMO he'll battle with Yiadom, & Ya-Sin for the outside CB opposite of Mooney. DMo needs to stay as the NB/Slot CB IMO, he's getting better, plus maybe it'll help to retain him as a FA, slot Corners don't get near what outside CBs do, hoping to god we can extend both Mooney & DMo long term, that $18m coming in June will help when they carry it over to 2025, makes them fit Brock, BA, Mooney, Deebo, p,us keep either DMo or Dre, plus Ward is set to count $12.2m in dead money in 2025 due to void yrs, hoping they do something soon, where they can get his '25 cap number near or little under the $12m, plus save cap room this year, BA extension saves up to $8m.

Its cheaper to go Green + Lenoir, but you really think they let an All Pro walk? Probably wont have much of a choice though if Ward gets any better.

IF Womack stays healthy, the nickel is his.. no doubt.

Oh I not only doubt it, I guarantee it's not his. He can't tackle, a slot CB needs to be able to tackle more than outside CBs, in ANY scheme
