Going to be 24 as a rookie. We really don't like to draft the younger prospects with room for growth do we.

Team is built to win now. No room for projects. Don't have the roster spots.
Draft is long-term in the first place.

"Who the hell is Mel Kiper?"

Does your cousin happen to be an All Pro DB?

I come from a family of pros multiple sports but none are all pro. Maybe one day but not quite yet but you can still have that all pro work ethic and you may not be the best but you can work and be a factor and help this team

Nice! You're lucky to have a family into athletics like that.

Yeah I agree the worth ethic is important. i was just messing.

A guy with all the physical talent can lose to a guy who is a harder worker and dedicates themselves to their craft.

He seems to have good instincts and is quick to dissect and get to the ball. He's criticized for his lack of ints but I think he focuses more on locking his man down and batting the ball away over going for ints and risking getting burned. He shadows the wr pretty damn good. Physical for his size.
My only concern is his lack of turning around and tracking the ball. I think that will be a magnet for flags if he doesn't turn around and address it.
Shutdown the LSU WRs. He's a dog. I got one pick right in my mock

Wow Mel Kiper, Jr. says this was the biggest reach in 2nd. Is there a more overrated, cartoonish draft analyst than this guy. He's pretty much correct about almost nothing ever. It's like the guy's just on TV because his stupid looking hair and he can talk really fast while spitting.

The way Mel kipper grades guys is different than how teams do. A good team grades guys on their fit with their team and other measuarables that matter to them. Kipper just grades on who he thinks are the best overall football players - there is a difference.

You predicted this guy? Reading into him, he seems like a stud. He was extremely successful in college, really impressive numbers/performances. I'm hoping it translates.

Your optimism is exactly what I needed this morning. I'm unaware of the dude, but I feel a little better now 👍🏻

NYniner picked him with our last 4th round comp pick in his draft. Fine player but hard to be excited about getting him 2 rounds before he was projected to be taken (consensus was early-mid 4th), especially after we traded away the pick before which could have been Suamataia (NY's first round pick). If anyone projected Green in the 2nd in a mock, they would have been blasted for poor value.

I get that consensus ratings are often wrong, but it feels like the 49ers are playing it safe and reaching for guys they did a lot of work on rather than players who may have fallen to them.

Hate the draft so far. ESPN listed us as one of the losers on both Day 1 and Day 2 and I'd agree.

I disagree. We drafted a very good WR who fits the system.
Now we got a CB who fits the system.
And we got a pass blocking OG, finally!!!!

Fck ESPN and all the other graders, nobody cares.

You know how drafts are. He might be one of our faves in a few years.
I like the pass breakups it tells me he is not lost and the press abilities to me that means he is not afraid to mix it up and disrupt timing. Just gotta clean up the grabbing.

I had him going a little later (based off a big board I used). But yes I had SF going Green.

I would have had Puni going to SF as well, but I thought he was a top 50ish guy and SF wasn't going to be able to get him. So basically just flipped lol.

we got 3 good players
