PS--does his skill set translate to LT at this level?

It definitely could but we need him more ar right guard.
Or move to RT when Feli comes back

Personally I think with more reps Mckivitz will grow. I haven't seen him be physically dominated. He has guessed wrong mentally - but when he's guessed right he hasn't been shot- putted the way McGlinchy was.

I'm impressed with the drafting of Puni, and Kingston. If that continues, I have hope next year they can draft a player that can replace Trent Williams.

Honestly McKivitz is not as bad as claimed on this platform. He's probably a better pass blocker than McGlinchey was. He's not great. But not terrible either. Not that disaster that Burford was at RG. But it looks like we just solved that. There is a reason why they would line up Chris Jones right over Burford. That's not an accident. They watched the film. Puni is light years better at RG. He can help with the inside stunts. So all McKivitz has to worry about now is outside speed rush. He should be concentrating more on that because Puni has the inside stuff locked down. By having him there it should even help McKivitz some and we can chip block if we need to with a TE or RB to help McKivitz.
Puni God!
Can this dude eventually take over at RT? He was pretty versatile in college, so I'm wondering if that count translate in the pros.

He probably can play Tackle. He's feet, angles and athleticism are great. In addition to being a very smart player. He always knows what to do on every play. But the way Shanahan is he probably wants to work him in at Guard for the 1st year. He usually doesn't like rookies right away but will do it at Guard because he has impressed. He probably can do more in future years.
he had quite a few reps against 1s and 2s too. Pretty solid - I'm excited for him.

I think he can play tackle in a pinch but I think he's best suited for guard.

At least that's what Geoff Schwartz said when asked that question.

He looks like a stud. Let's hold off on anointing him to the Pro Bowl already, though. The real games haven't even started.

ESPN hasn't had him listed anywhere on the 49ers depth chart all preseason. Bunch of nimwits.

Lol the contrast in sizes. Good interview. Poons!
Any chance this kid can play left tackle? LOL. He does have impressive size and good feet…. Do we really go into the season with Jaylon Moore starting a LT? Gulp.
