It's nice to finally get a guy where pass blocking seems to be better than his run blocking. Over the years, it's our pass pro that has struggled to keep up when it matters.

this guy seems like a great pick for our scheme too. In my opinion, it matters more of how a guy fits your scheme/system, than just about anything. This guy may struggle in the raiders system (as an example) but should thrive here

Won't play much this year and will replace Banks the season after.

What makes you think it'll be Banks he'll replace? Would be silly to finally get some good OL and then let them walk In the off-season.

I want to see them build a big, strong nasty OL, that dominates for years to come.

The financial situation will be difficult in a year. Tough decisions will need to be made.
Best value pick of the 49ers draft so far. Excellent pass protector with position versatility. His experience could make him an early contributor and possible day 1 IOL starter. Would like to see more nastiness in the run game.
I'm not sure Mel kiper knows what he's talking about about. He said he liked this pick and said puni is a road grader run blocker but said nothing of his pass blocking (no sacks allowed in 2 years).
I feel better about Puni than last years 3rd rounders.
So far my favorite draft pick of this year to root for. Looking like he got that on the field nasty.
Really good scouting take by a Giants site

So long term he'll eventually be an OT with the 49ers?

He will need to grow his arms a few inches

He has 33 3/8" arms. If you have at least 33 you're good but Puni is best inside for sure.

I would put him wherever he fits best, there's always next year's draft to get a pure tackle. There's also free agency.

I wouldn't force him into anything.
