Wonder if he can eventually be Juice's replacement too.

On my mind as well. Seems to have the size. Interested to see his blocking ability.

They can always teach him to block if he's willing. Can't teach a guy to run, they can refine it with vision and reading holes opening.

Great more RB we won't use. Fantastic use of a pick.

He's probably the best RB on the roster not CMC. Why wouldn't he be used?
Because of Kyle. Eli Mitchell is a starting caliber RB when healthy. He also is never healthy. Mason has shown he is a capable runner that fumbles on occasion. Neither of these guys get hardly any touches.
How does it fall on Kyle for not playing Mitchell who is never healthy?

Masons lack of playing time is due in part to his limitations in the passing game and ability to pass protect.
Guerendo is a freight train when he gets going. You better be a strong tackler or you're gonna get run through or dragged down the field. Good outside zone fit overall with most of his traits. Now that said..

Why was he there in the fourth? Well, my frustration early on in tape review a few months back was the tendency to dance at the line and try to bounce outside for no logical reason quite frequently, instead of hitting the hole. The vision seemed inconsistent.

We have the best RB coach in the game though so I don't doubt he can improve this. The other major positive is he was known for strong pass blocking ability.

The athletic potential is there and his return ability is a nice bonus. Overall, not a bad value. Going to be an interesting competition between him, Mason, and Schrader.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mitchell be the odd man out if those 3 show well.

Mason would have to make quite the jump seeing as how he's never leapfrogged Mitchell in 2 years

I would be surprised if they let Mitchell go, because he's still an RB1 caliber guy IMO. We won't get good value in a trade due to his injury history, and he only counts $1M against the cap. People say he wasn't the same but I actually disagree. When he got more snaps he was his usual self. We just rode CMC into the ground regardless of having talented guys like Mason and EM behind him. I definitely think Mitchell won't be back in 2025 though.

I do think we're in good shape at RB as I feel like every guy we've added, minus Patrick Taylor, can be RB1 in the NFL. Schrader might be the more complete back among the rookies, honestly, but didn't test as explosively for sure and perhaps doesn't have the size to take the pounding of an every down back, much like Mitchell IMO.

I think you misconstrued my words. I was saying Eli Mitchell has RB1 talent when he is healthy, which isn't often. That being said, when he was healthy last year, Kyle rarely put him in the game. It was the CMC show the entire year which was great for me because I had CMC on my fantasy team.
The weapons this team has is downright scary.

Evaluate in camp, but if Gurrendo shows out, Mitchell gets the Matt Breida treatment and get traded for a future 5th round pick.

I like Mitchell but we won't pay him next year. Reset the clock and wages at the position. Hopefully find someone with better availability and who I believe is better in the passing game.

I think this happens as well. If nothing else, Mitchell will get shopped.

If no takers, I do believe that he still is RB2. My guess would be RB3 is Isaac G cause if exposed to waivers, he'd get taken immediately. Mason would be the one heading to the PS

And I believe he played WR in high-school before switching to RB for college.

I complained on another forum about us taking a RB that high when it first happened (felt Kyle wouldn't use him). but that being said.. I just love that he is going to be learning how to be a great running back from someone like Christian McCaffrey...

How to be a true professional (although he already gives off that vibe).

Hope CMC takes him under his wing and they train together. All those physical tools this kid has... wow. Can't wait to see what comes out of it.

My problem with the pick is that he will only be useful in return game until Kyle stops using CMC as a 90%+ workload bellcow

I know it's not exactly a great exercise, but if I ask, if we had this guy on our roster in the SB, would we have won ? And the answer is no, because he would get maybe one or two touches the entire game.
