Evaluate in camp, but if Gurrendo shows out, Mitchell gets the Matt Breida treatment and get traded for a future 5th round pick.

I like Mitchell but we won't pay him next year. Reset the clock and wages at the position. Hopefully find someone with better availability and who I believe is better in the passing game.

I think this happens as well. If nothing else, Mitchell will get shopped.

If no takers, I do believe that he still is RB2. My guess would be RB3 is Isaac G cause if exposed to waivers, he'd get taken immediately. Mason would be the one heading to the PS

I honestly wouldn't expose any of them. The one with the best chance of lasting on the PS would be Mason or Schraeder. But I think this roster of backs is as good as it has ever been. But it's one year only. I can't see them letting a guy go for nothing (via being claimed).

My problem with the pick is that he will only be useful in return game until Kyle stops using CMC as a 90%+ workload bellcow

I know it's not exactly a great exercise, but if I ask, if we had this guy on our roster in the SB, would we have won ? And the answer is no, because he would get maybe one or two touches the entire game.

What? I don't know what you are expecting from a late 4th round rookie. Are you sitting on a list of 5th round picks this draft that would have guaranteed us the Lombardi trophy? Theres not on offensive lineman taken after him that sniffs the field for us either. This is about making the group more versatile and giving us flexibility in 2025.

And how do you know Guerrendo doesn't take his one or two touches to the house?

Wonder if he can eventually be Juice's replacement too.

On my mind as well. Seems to have the size. Interested to see his blocking ability.

They can always teach him to block if he's willing. Can't teach a guy to run, they can refine it with vision and reading holes opening.

he spent a portion of 2022 in a one back offense, with a fair chunk of pass block snaps....I saw at least one pro set snap that he was a lead blocker on

He's probably the best RB on the roster not CMC. Why wouldn't he be used?

That's a huge leap for a guy that didn't do anything in college and hasn't taken a single offseason rep
This guy is going to be an absolute monster in this scheme… I hope we spell CMC more this year, especially since this guy seems like a reliable pass catcher.

Because of potential injuries/price, I think we may keep Mitchell, but I think there is a good chance he may be traded too. I love him but he's always injured.

itll be very interesting to see what we do with Danny gray and Mitchell. We will need every roster spot possible so they may make room by trading some guys away.

I'd prefer to draft a RB who is never going to see the field, in 6th and later, and even better UDFA

pretty crazy that he had the fastest 40 at the combine for a RB at 220+ lol wild. What an athlete.

this

just watching his touches videos, there is a clear advantage on snaps with a FB and his one back snaps. Granted he broke a couple of those one back snaps for huge gains, most of his go nowhere snaps were also snaps he lacked a FB.

This is the kind of thing that plays a part when a guy ends up a better pro than he was a college player. He fits what the 49ers do.

Kyle knows that CMC Is the star of the offense and will utilise him as much as possible.

The Rb we drafted could turn out to be pretty good, but the question Is, will he get enough opportunities to prove himself?

with as many weapons as this offense has, im sure he has some plans on reducing the carries.
I predict he'll be a bust. The 49ers should have went after Bucky Irving of Oregon if they wanted a RB.

This guy looks like one of those players with elite measurables, that lack the actual football talent to utilize it.

On the other hand, the 49ers have gotten a lot of production out of no name guys that simply have good straight line speed (Mostert, Breida...)
