It looked like he just got caught to be honest. Watching the replay several times. But I don't know. Pride is making him say that. He possibly could have taken it off the gas a little. But his legs did get tripped up. He didn't slide on his own. If you watch it.

You obviously didn't listen to Deebo or Shanahan. He was told to go down and thus he did

Once he has his mind made up about something no facts will change that.

I hear Kyle say this morning that there's no way he went down intentionally. Someone isn't being honest here.

It does not at all look like he went down intentionally. He got tripped up by the opposing player on the tape. It doesn't matter. We won. But it doesn't look like an intentional slide to me.

when Kyle is saying it he's got a big goofy grin on his face. he laughs mid answer. coach wants him to score, and coach also doesn't want to throw him under the bus like he messed up. coaches have to do coach speak. we all know this. he went down on purpose, and the player admits it more than once. Kyle wouldn't even know what is going through the players mind. only the player knows. from KS perspective, he didn't tell the player to go down. that is no doubt true. but the sideline was yelling it nonetheless, per the player.

Either he is saving face because he was caught from behind.... ( he has probably been the fastest person at every stop in his life), or he DID slow down, with the intention of siding at he 1...and was surprised to be tripped up at th 6...and fell to the 4.

Either way...super clear his foot was clipped out from underneath him.

He got tripped and went into a slide to stay in. If you watch closely you see it.. his intent was 6.
You can tell he's not seeing things well at this point in his career. Even on the 76-yard run, he lowers his pads and braces for contact as he hits the hole. That's like the opposite of what they want from a wide zone runner. Not sure if this is something that'll get better with time. I feel like this is one of those traits that you either have or don't.

The run is also a testament to the type of athlete he is because he gets back into his stride really quick after he realized he was sprung free.

Very nice run. But how do you get caught with 4.33 speed? LOL

You get tired. Lol.

Maybe he got tired. I think he has the speed to out run those guys. Probably should have made the endzone. But it's ok. I will take the long breakaway run.

Some of u guys are never satisfied lol. But here i'll explain it for u: its harder to run absolute top speed while carrying the football. Someone same speed as u or even a bit slower can catch u from behind purely based off not carrying the ball and having the ability to pump both if their arms

Nah, his form broke down. Devon Witherspoon, the CB who caught him, ran a 4.45 at the combine. It's not surprising that a guy 40lbs lighter might lose in the 40 yard dash but win in the 75-100 yard dash.

40 yard times are BS. Those guys shed weight sometimes and train to get a good tme. It doesn't always translate to the field. Deebo had a 4.48 time but his top speed on his TD pass was clocked a little higher than Guerendo.

So true, can't confuse 40 time ( as measure of acceleration) with Speed...

Also can't confuse 40 time with actual football speed. This is the part where we remind everyone that Jerry Rice ran a 4.7 or some such nonsense, and he is one of the best walk off TD generators of all time.

I think he was intending to score too and just got caught. But he was smart enough to fall in bounds.

He realized he was tired. 😆

The way he made himself small to get through the hole was sweet
Gotta keep the ball tight to his body.

Freaken Puni...damn dude.....

Every Single Down..... the dude finds a way to do a bit extra...

Look at the shove to help clear the end, before stepping up to the next level...

It seems like forever we have had dudes who need tunnel vision to have any hope of doing their job correctly....we finally get a dude thinks big picture and is great at his job.....

Man, short term...dude is pro-bowl-ish....long term...this dude is a HELL of a role model...I really hope his team-work attitude imprints on other lineman...the dude sets a hell of an example....

We need to find some more like him.
After last night, I now see what they aw in Guerendo.

Could be developed into a good back.
