There was 40 seconds left on the clock. A TD at that point would have put the game out of reach. Brock could have fumbled the snap on the first play and Dallas could have scooped it up and scored. Highly unlikely but I've seen that happen. This certainly wasn't garbage time.

No, you haven't, because there has never been a fumbled snap from victory formation in the NFL.

I didn't say it happened in the NFL but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen. It's still say a TD in that spot would be better than sliding down but the Niners won so it doesn't matter.

The TD was better. But again the slide. I wonder if he will ever run it in from some distance.

Just the thought of a botched snap on the kneel down is all i was worried about. Not sure if it has ever happened but i guess it could. Our luck would be for it to happen and they run it back for a TD.

Hey, this has got me remembering that weird victory formation thing from last year's NFCCG on the final play where Brock had to burn 2 seconds (or something) prior to giving himself up. Now that actually did get me worried!
He did a good job of dancing a little jig there for a sec or two to be fair.

yeah....

He had two stonewall great blitz pick-ups against KC...he missed one in this game.....he was good at this in college....so I expect he will bounce back.

against Dallas...that drop seemed so shallow...I wonder if he was even lined up correctly.....it would have been a difficult blitz pick up for most players...just given the angle to the QB.

The best reason for not scoring you make it a 99.9% chance that your defense doesn't have to take a single extra snap. We don't want our best players having any added injury risk. Look at how many guys have been injured in the final two minutes this year -- Jordan Love and Chris Godwin prime examples.

If analytics say you have a 100% chance of winning at that point regardless, you take the option that also gives you no further risk to your guys.

Hows does IG compare to Arian Foster? I think the latter had top tier vision & patience, but don't recall him being fast as the former.

At least the point spread was 5 1/2 and not 6. If it had been there would have been a lot of people groaning that he didn't score.

After how god awful sermon & TDP were this seems like a grand slam. Not saying IG is some incredible player but he's actually contributing so that is a huge step up from every RB we've drafted here (aside from Mitchell but he can't stay healthy)

As said above tho, need to not f**k up in blitz pickup. That ended Steve Young's career and could've really gotten Brock killed. He's a rookie so you understand you have to live with some mistakes but that's one that just can't happen again

We should all just take a second and appreciate the early returns on this draft class. Lynch and Shanny needed to hit on at least a few of these and I'd say, of the picks that remain on the team, well done.

Foster was a 4.6 guy. He has great balance and vision though. Good pass catcher. Dude always looked like he was gliding out there. No wasted movements

IG seems more like a OZ see hole and go type of back. He's a former WR so he should be decent at catching the ball. In college he had horrible contact balance. Seems like he's getting a little better there.

He did all of those at University of Wisconsin for the Badgers. Which is why he was buried on the depth chart behind Braelon Allen (Badgers - Jets). Then he went to Louisville on a transfer because he couldn't get reps. I have some relatives there and have even been to some Badgers games. This has been known about him for a long time. Lacks the vision inside and doesn't like contact in the middle. He's an outside runner who tries to run away from you. This isn't new. Why he gets caught from behind consistently I don't know? But he has the speed to finish. I'd like to seem him actually finish more often.

No I knew about him before. Even been to games too. This is what he always was. He has value running outside. But not as much inside. Not sure how you can explain his consistently getting caught from behind? He shouldn't with his speed. He should be able to finish some of those when he gets out in the open.

This is your first post on the guy which was 4 months after drafting him.. would have been nice to spread all of your info back then
