Please, whoever is clamoring for Jordan Mason, at least think about why Kyle doesn't use him. He's of little value as a third-down back. He can't pass protect, and his ability to run routes is meh at best. This guy we just got is a respected pass blocker and a former WR who converted out of college, so he brings a good floor of skills to the backfield with additional upside. He compliments Mason perfectly should anything happen to CMC or Mitchell (for whom it probably will).

Kyle has to get over that. Just because a player has a certain weakness doesn't mean you block him from getting on the field and contributing in his strengths.
Another mid rd RB that first won't even get a chance to play, then will be released with us getting nothing in return. Our coach is f**king our team hard.

Yeah he's just taken to this team to 4 NFC championship games and 2 SB's in 4 of the last 5 years. What a trainwreck. It should be 5 straight NFC championships with 3 SB appearances and 2 wins or fired. Everyone knows that is the floor for any decent coach. Winning SB's is a piece of cake, Just look at the Bills. They have maybe the 2nd best QB in all of football and look at all those conference championships and SB's they have been making and winning in the last 5 years. Oh wait. Or how about every team outside of the Chiefs?

Niners have lost 2 SB's to the Chiefs but if beating the Chiefs is suppose to be so easy why can't the AFC teams stop them from making the conference championship and SB every year?

Thats great that your OK with second an third place.

But I'm a 49er fan. Super Bowl wins are the standard. Like our owner said we don't raise NFC title banners. In 49er history shanalynch HAVE NOT accomplished success.

As long as our HC an FO keep intentionally making choices that prevent SB wins from happening I will be opposed to those choices. Best of luck to you.

It was a trade-up in the late rounds. Not like it was giving up two 3rd's to move up into the 2nd.

Still two much when we still need OTand TE depth. Heck we signed the SEC leading rusher as soon as the draft was over and he can do the same thing as the player we pick which he did this year against better competition.

Only bandwagon/casual fans are Super Bowl or bust. They will tune out or switch teams when things get rough..... They ain't sticking around for the Alex Smith years...

This front office clearly locks in on skill sets.

If they don't feel a dude has a legit chance to perform a task a certain kind of way...they are not wasting a draft pick to grab a random dude they don't think will fit. At least, that is the way it appears to me...but what do I know...

They seem more flexible on other positions and clearly have taken a "more then one way to skin a cat" approach, but they seem to know what they want on the line....and it might just be a case of can continuity improve the overall performance....the 49ers do some unique things with the line, every snap is not just go out and be bigger and stronger then the dude lined up across from you.....maybe they just didn't see dude they had confidence could do what they want to do.

They probably have a cut down plan that involved keeping extra WRs around going into next year, and TE was the spot they would go lighter on. Or maybe they have an idea some dude will shake free and they want to take a look at that guy....I am sure there is some plan in place.
He doesn't run like a 4.3-RB
Awful pad level
As a receiver I only saw screens and checkdowns

I hope he can protect his QB because I'm not excited about this pick
I like it, it's like we're getting another Raheem Mostert.

So pretty much every coach in the league is horrible except for Reid?
