Deebo is who he is because of elite acceleration and lower body strength and ability to break tackles. Those are things that can fall off a cliff when an athlete ages, so I definitely wouldnt want to see many years of Deebo past the age of 30. Compared to an elite route runner like say Aiyuk, whom I can see still having less of a steep fall off career-wise down the road.

Fair assessment. This is the reason I don't think Deebo sees a 3rd contract here. I say keep him for 2025, then let him walk for the comp pick.
Now this is a wild lol

Its reality. Long term, how many guys do you expect us to hold on to making 10 million plus? I'm not predicting we suffer a mighty fall, but we are the NFL's oldest team and the most expensive (or close to it).

We're already along guys to take pay cuts abd because one guy didn't (Armstead), he's no longer with the team. We are also stuck in a cycle of being over the cap for the next season, needing to do restructures, and having guys due big extensions (Ward, Greenlaw, Lenoir, and to a lesser extent Banks and Hufanga).

I think Kittle is in the year after. That's wild. What would you suggest to keep our guys?

The Deebo hate is unreal in this thread. They gonna be real mad when he goes off this year for another All Pro.

Trust me, it's not Deebo hate. I love him as a player and his ability is unreal. Had his 2nd best year last year and Im expecting at or near All Pro this year. But how many guys are we going to have past 2025 (when his deal is up) making 10 million plus? If they can find a way to do it, go for it. But Id also like to at least extend Ward or Lenoir (preferably both), Greenlaw (our enforcer), and Hufanga.

I just don't see it right now.

I would say whether Deebo stays or goes is like any other player. If he balls he stays if he falters he leaves. One thing is for certain is Deebo is approaching this year like a contract year and last I checked his last time playing on a contract year he was All Pro and he was better than Aiyul was last year as a receiver all while also being one of the best RBs in the league as well. Aiyuk has never had a year comparable to the one Deebo had and even as a rookie Deebo was the better player

So I just want to make sure we put some respect on Deebo's name

Guy is an absolute stud.
He continues to look extremely good. Maybe the best WR we drafted. Wow is he good.

best WR drafted huh
Solid 🔥
Impressive!

Now if Pearsall can get healthy and start producing, could have two very good receivers from this draft.

looking very good at the WR spot minus BA
If BA doesn't sign or is traded Cowing needs to start. He can beat man coverage and has excellent burst/speed and ball skills.
