I think people misunderstand when it's said "Brock purdy doesn't have a great arm." The context in saying that isn't to say he can't throw the ball 50 air yards. Come on, every QB in history can do that.
The context is purdy doesn't have a good enough arm to make these throws in stride when everything isn't perfect. THAT is where guys like herb, Allen, Lamar, etc. really love having that strong arm. Off balance, pressures, not a perfect base, they can hit that 50 yard throw. Purdy can't and he has proven that he can't.
Doesn't mean he sucks but he doesn't have the same physical gifts as some of these other guys

Lamar can't make that throw. Come on. He's inaccurate as hell. He barely can hit anything out there. Lucky he can run so good. Herbert mostly needs a real good base to throw long. Josh Allen can be falling out of bounds, on his back foot, off balance and throw 50 to the endzone. So you got 1 of 3. But he also makes tons of bonehead plays too. Purdy can make that throw and the completion is not as bad as you guys are claiming.

This is true. This is why his processing and anticipation is so pivotal to his success. He has to be on time or early at times to make the those drive throws as feasible for him.
It's also why the 49ers' front office should prioritize upgrading the OL. They should be trying to give Purdy as many clean pockets to throw from as possible.

Another DUMB Hoov post. But what's new? First you cherry pick a few one off plays. You have to look at full body of work. Not a few one off plays. That's dumb.
1) Lamar has good base there.
2) Lamar has good base there.
3) Herbert scrambles, resets his base, has good base there.
The only guy who consistently can do what is described is Allen. Running off balance, falling out of bounds, off back foot, chuck it up for 50 yards to the endzone. Josh Allen can do that strength wise. But it's not always accurate. The others not so much. All 3 of those show a good base to throw from.

I've seen Lamar & herb make that throw in stride many times. But, anyhow the point is Brock isn't that QB and he can't just work out hard and turn into that QB. Need to work with what he is good at, and that starts with fixing this average at best OL.

Yeah a better offensive line and a wall around him would help a lot. Since he is a timing and anticipation thrower you don't want things to disrupt that. That's a disaster for this team.

All of this. You have a QB like Purdy and you do what it takes to put a talented OL in front of him. You DON'T roll out guys like Brendel at C or McKivitz at RT. Purdy deserves better to help him be the best he can be. This entire offense with its talent deserves it to be able to do what it wants to do in both the running & passing game.

Sheesh, check out the rep at 8:23. Cowing put that boy in a blender. He has the type of athleticism to make teams pay for playing press-man.

Hmm, could us being forced to play the rookies against Dallas, guys who tend to excel against man, actually be something that works in our favor this week? I guess we'll see.
If Jennings and Kittle can play, they're generally good against man too.
Also, FML BRENDEL FREAKING SUCKS. First clip and he gets absolutely DESTROYED.
