It'd be awesome if he can be that immoveable object at the 2i position. This roster needs that.

He reminds me a bit of Red Bryant on that legion of boom defense.

The way SEA used Red Bryant in their 4-3 Under was very unique. He was a big ass mofo but they stuck him at strongside DE. I don't think the 49ers envision this guy at DE.

Agree, but I can see him at the 2i position and basically is the tree stump in the middle of that defense that stops middle runs. That helps the defense seal the inside and make the opposing offense go outside and let the speedy 49er defense use the sideline as a 12th man to stop the runs.

Body type and athletically, he does seem to be closer to like a Red Bryant than a DJ Jones. The comparisons people were throwing around last year of Kalia Davis to DJ last year was hilarious. I don't think people realize how explosive and powerful DJ Jones was at 320 pounds. DJJ was a freak and the strongest dude in the Ole Miss weight room.

The only thing standing Evan's way of making the team is himself because there's literally nobody else competing for the base/short yardage/goalline 2i nose spot. That doesn't mean it'll be easy because I can see Kocurek rolling with all rotation of 3techniques and plugging them in at nose like he did last year if Evans disappoints, but he has a great oppurtunity to make the team.

If they can get Anderson better with his hands and get him to consistently keep his pad level down, he will be an absolute beast. Although, you could say that about many guys, "if they didn't suck, they'd be great" lol. But Anderson doesn't suck. He's got ability.

Evan certainly flashed capability. He just needs to get consistent. And hopefully he keeps his weight in a good spot too.

He'll be our preseason workhorse and then PS regular season

I think he makes the team. JMO. Not a big Missouri fan or Schrader cheerleader I watched this kid play and he is legit.

Hey it's definitely possible. This the type of kid that lives to prove doubters wrong and sure as hell been doing a damn good job at it. You know his story? If not, worth checking out

If he develops, he could be another Demarcus dobbs/Ian Williams. The Carroll/Seifert defenses foundation is built on a strong middle triangle - NT/2i and the two inside linebackers. I think KJ Wright has brought the basics back after Wilks got away from that last year.

Got our big fatty…didn't even have to spend a pick on one 😉
Pline is interesting because he was a college basketball player before moving to football. 6'7 260lbs. 49ers have nothing of substance behind Kittle. Maybe he beat out 1 of the guys for a spot and develop into a redzone target. Or he is released in August and we never hear his name again

I hope he has a good camp and shows he's a good blocker, the 49ers need one of those now that Woerner is gone.

I'm so iffy on the TE position, I kinda wish we had gotten Brock Wright, he is a good blocker, decent pass catcher, I hope Saubert will be good, I'm worried about Latu & Willis, I'm not ready to say they were bad picks, but wish we went with a TE in the draft, but then again the TE class may have not been that great or even good after Brock Bowers went, so if Pline can shine, he has a shot, he should be the PS TE at worst IMO.

That would have been nice to get Wright. Now we just have to hope that Latu and/or Willis learned what they needed to last year and are busting their butt to get in crazy shape so they can push for valuable playing time.
