No room for him. We have to cut promising LB's as it is.

Although I like Allen's improvement this preseason in the first two games.. I didn't like his last outing. But I understand why Kyle wants to keep him.

2022 3rd rounder and 5th rounders cut along with 2023 3rd, 7th and 7th.

I think keeping such a low quality player as a third string qb is so dumb. I'd rather go with 2. If brock does down, we are effed anyways. if brock AND Pastronaught goes down - we are super effed. it isn't like teams will be eager to sign freakin allen.

I'd rather rock with just two and save the roster spot.

I thought the narrative was that Minn has always wanted Allen back?

I could be confused on that....but I thought that was a thing

Does this mean they are keeping Tatum Bethune?

I'd much rather keep Bethune & Graham over Allen as the third string qb. I just feel like your season is screwed if you lose your starter all year AND your second string guy. what happened to us 2022 was a super fluke and won't happen again. It's only happened to two teams in nfl history.

I'd rathe have a guy on the PS that takes over, like mordecai, if we need a third qb and then we use that roster spot on someone with potential.

been a while since we were super talented....

But.....

cutting draft choices the same year you took them was something that use to happen to Dallas and SF on the regular.

IMO, who cares. let them have him back. It isn't like he does anything for this team. he's the backups backup. odds of him ever playing are so slim and the odds of us winning a championship if it gets down to that is essentially zero. Unless your third guy is a young promising player that you can think will develop or a talented veteran - it's a waste to keep a third qb scrub player.

We saved a roster spot by keeping Conley. He fills a key ST spot and is a solid #3/4 WR. That allows a spot for Allen. He played well in PS.
I am also a 2QB believer, but its obvious what Shanahan thinks about the QB room size after 2022.

We went into 22 with three on the roster as well.
