nfl.com did their projected starters
here's the write up from Rosenthal:

https://www.nfl.com/news/nfc-west-projected-starters-for-2024-nfl-season-49ers-rams-cards-will-score-system-fits-in-seattle

  • The 49ers are returning the same starting offensive personnel that led the league in every efficiency metric by a wide margin. That's rare, and it's not like this team is old.
  • In performing this exercise, the instinct is to immediately insert first-round picks like Ricky Pearsall into the starting lineup. The 49ers drafted him high for a reason, but Jauan Jennings is too good in his role to summarily displace. Pearsall feels more like a potential injury replacement who will have a bigger impact in 2025.
  • I forgot Josh Dobbs is on this team. He'll be fun to watch in this offense if he's ever needed.
  • Outside of all-world LT Trent Williams, the offensive line never impresses with overall talent. The unit short-circuited in big moments during the Super Bowl. Yet this group almost always plays better than the sum of its parts, especially in the run game.
  • Brandon Aiyuk could get a big contract extension this offseason. If the 49ers break up their receiver duo after this year, Deebo Samuel Sr. feels more likely to get dealt.
  • Fourth-round combine hero Isaac Guerendo will be a fun player to watch in the preseason to see if he can win the backup job at running back.
  • The defensive line has a different vibe. The 49ers went hard on solid mid-level veterans who can soak up snaps, signing Leonard Floyd, Maliek Collins, Jordan Elliott and Yetur Gross-Matos. Beyond Nick Bosa and Javon Hargrave, the group is not as flashy as it once was.
  • Linebacker Dre Greenlaw will probably miss the start of the season after tearing his Achilles in the Super Bowl. In the meantime, former Packer De'Vondre Campbell is the favorite to take his place.
  • The cornerback group, like the offensive line, appears to have holes every year. And then it works out just fine. The group has a number of players who can play inside or out, including second-rounder Renardo Green.
  • The 49ers missed Talanoa Hufanga's playmaking down the stretch last season. The safety, who tore his ACL last November, should be ready for Week 1.
  • The biggest questions here are intangible. After getting so close year after year, can the 49ers rev up the engine again? They have the offense to dominate.

Not sure why Moore doesn't get a chance at RT. IMO looked better than Colton in pass blocking last year in limited time. I think there have been some instances where the more talented guy hasn't played because of another reason.. I'm guessing he doesn't work as hard.. But the loudest worker is often not the best worker either..
Sounds like that #6 WR is up for grabs. Don't know if we'll go with a rookie returner.

Gonna come down to if they want Trent as that guy or if Conley on coverage is more valuable IMO.

Best chance:
Trent Taylor
Chris Conley
Ronnie Bell

Long shots:
Danny Gray
Tay Martin
Terique Owens

I think Taylor will be on PS, and I can see baby TO and Martin going on PS as well

I have Conley and Bell fighting for the last spot

Gray....I'm just not sure there is a spot for him anymore. WR room is super crowded now. I don't see any situation where I'd want to see him over Conley in this offense with this QB.
this is my 53 man projection in June, haha, slow work day

Bell has the upside, special teams, and the best contract in his favor IMO

I think he's the frontrunner for the 6 spot, with Gray being a darkhorse

Conley and Taylor could stick to the practice squad without risk of being poached

Sounds like Womack and Luter are being passed up by Yiadom and Green. Womack is a guy who hasn't shown us much. Probably won't make the roster. Schrader is a better back than Guerendo
The 49ers' draft pick by year most at risk of not making the 2024 roster:

2017: Trent Taylor
  • Kittle and Taylor are the remaining players from draft #1.
2018: None
  • Fred Warner is the only one left and he's not getting cut.
2019: Dre Greenlaw
  • Depending on how they feel about the younger LBs, Greenlaw might be an early cap casualty.
2020: None
  • Aiyuk, McKivitz, and Jennings are the three from this draft.
2021: Ambry Thomas
  • Too much competition this year at CB and Thomas has not impressed.
2022: Danny Gray
  • Also a spot with a lot of competition.
  • Womack from this draft is also at risk.
2023: Ronnie Bell
  • See Danny Gray
  • Wild card from this draft could be Cameron Latu getting cut
2024: Tatum Bethune
  • C'mon, 7th rounders never make the team!!!

Taylor and Conley, unless they surprise in preseason and TC, will likely be PS players for us. Bell or Gray would be #6, and Taylor and/or Conley would be PS additions.

I could see that too, but Bell has to show serious improvement. No more embarrassing drops, fumbles, or muffs.

There is zero chance Dre Greenlaw is cut before the year. He will go on PUP so if he cant play until very late he isn't taking a roster spot. And since he's injured, can they even cut him without paying a lot of injury guaranteed ? There's just no way.

This post lost its credibility with Isaac getting cut
I found what may be the most dumbest, and awful 53-man projection online, https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/2024_49ers_roster_projection/s1_17256_40552052

He has the likes of Ronnie Bell, Trent Taylor, Austin Bryant, T.Y. McGill Jr., & Ambry Thomas all making the 2024 53-man roster, with no Jacob Cowing, Spencer Burford, Drake Jackson, Jordan Elliott, Isaac Yiadom, & Rock Ya-Sin on this 53-man roster.

He also had some comments about how it's Maliek Collins would be a practice squader, despite being GTD $6M of his base, also that it was possible Renardo Green wouldn't make the roster, like WTF? He was the teams' 2nd-round pick, there's no chance he gets cut, he also says Odum is expected to make the team? He got a 2yr extension this offseason, idk just a very dumb roster projection.

Oh, and here's the breakdown of the 53-man by position, 3 QBs, 5 RB/FBs, 7 WRs, 4 TEs, 7 OL, 10 DL, 5 LBs, 5 CBs, 4 S, & 3 ST.

Yes he has only 7 OL making the 53-man roster, the NFL rule is if you want to have 48 players active on gameday, they must have 8 OL active, & I think that players has to be on the 53, not the PS.
