I heard one of the Niners reporters say he broke his hand and was waived with an injury settlement. If they liked him, they could bring him back when he's healed

That would be a better option than him being fully healthy and cut. He should play in the UFL or CFL if he can next season. Maybe he can try again next NFL season.
