CMC is money.
I'm hoping that Mason comes on super strong and we use him a lot.
Exciting about Schrader - hope he makes it.

I'm hearing great things from this guy from the 49ers. Checked out some of his highlights and was blown away. I want to see him play in preseason. He could be a future gem of a running back for the 49ers.

Schrader versus Guerendo is like the classic football player who plays faster and bigger than he measures vs an elite athlete who plays slower than he measures.
I usually am biased towards the former. The latter always have higher ceilings but playing fundamental smart football always appeal more to me.
I wanna see Schrader make the PS at least. Doubt he can make the team as it's just too many mouths to feed at RB

Agree, and in hindsight - I'd have loved for ShanaLynch to pick an OT/Guard/Center instead of the Guerendo pick, considering his bad camp start. Cody, if he makes it, will just make Kyle cut another drafted RB. Still I hope to see Guerendo play in preseason also.

History tells you this is probably correct.
Williams/BreIda
Sermon/Mitchell
TDP/Mason

He's not exactly soft but does get tackled by the shoe laces. He's definitely not afraid to go head on with a LB. Seems like Kyle was more infatuated with his speed and pass catching tbph.
Schrader definitely looks better in a phone booth though.

Personally, and it's just my opinion, but all those failed RB picks were pretty much Kyle Shanahan picks, considering how John defers to Kyle on choosing offensive players in the draft (Example: Williams pick). One reason is that the RB position for Kyles offense is so *important.* It's the one position that affects everything else in Kyles offensive System (outside of the QB).

He keeps trying to find that next Clinton Portis, one cut with speed but the ones he drafts all run way too upright and go down on first contact. The ones that excel are the ones that run low and through arm tackles which the scouts find in the later rounds. CMC is on another level so he doesnt really enter the equation unless we want to talk about top ten picks. LBs are just faster these days to hit the legs/shoelaces and it's the one area Kyle hasnt adjusted for when it comes to middle round RBs.

Agree, and that's the difference between a Mitchell and a Sermon. You really can't scout the intangibles (heart, character, work ethic, vision, instinct) it's very hard. But you can scout measurables such as height, weight, 40 time, reps, jumping and cone drills. Another Example Kenny Picket was 6'3" and Purdy was 6'1" - Arm (Kenny 54mph, Brock was in the low 50's - prior to his workouts after the draft combine with Will Hewitt) Those measurements are easy to do, but it's tough to measure Brock's anticipation, accuracy, and instincts.
