How would you want to finish the season if you know your not winning the super bowl?

In actuality, losing the Super Bowl is the second-best outcome, but it feels the worst.
Winning the Super Bowl

Wow I can't believe how many 2nd place participation trophy fans there are. f**k the SB if you can't win it. Especially since we are 0 for the last 3 in just 11 years.

Draymond shares similar sentiments, "I'd rather not make the playoffs" - Draymond Green on why losing in the NBA Finals is the 'absolute 'worst'."

Draymond Green is a player, not a fan.

As a fan can you honestly tell me you enjoy the season more when we end up with the #1 overall pick, middle of the tier draft slot or make it to the SB but lose?

I know I certainly got a lot more enjoyment and happy memories/days out of the 2012/2019/2023 seasons than 2004/2016 or even 2014.

In no way does it indicate people are ok with 2nd place. It's simply people preferring not to watch their team suck all season long.

This is a hypo we'll never be able to play out. But hypothetically speaking, If we make it to the SB and lose and turn into the Bills, there's a good chance Lynch and Shanny will be let go, not because they can't win games, but rather it's time for a reset. Kittle, Deebo, Trent, Bosa, Warner, will all be a year older as well. So knowing we're not going to win the SB, the right move, imo, is to get the #1 pick which we can keep or leverage into more picks, trade some of our vets away, and just reload hopefully with a competent new GM and coaching staff. Otherwise, I guess we could reset with those two intact and trading some vets away but dang, after losing three straight superbowls, I don't know if they'd be able to withstand the pressure that would be coming their way. As a fan, whatever, at least Lebron won championships at the same rate he lost them.

I would be surprised if we make it to the super bowl this upcoming season. And if we do I'd be extra surprised if it's not on the account of BP. I'd have more confidence in this team's chances if we steamroll everyone in the regular season but that's unlikely. 30 years and counting since our last super bowl. Yes, a lot of great memories and moments but 4 super bowl losses in a row would be a travesty. And we might not get back to the SB for another 30 years (anti-jinx) as well.

Sounds like a Shanahan special.

As long as it gets rid of Shanahan, I'm okay with any of them. I'll even take another gut wrenching SB loss. Just cut loose from the guy that chokes in big moments.

Shanahan can't win the Big Game. He gets overwhelmed and nervous in the big moments. Too much for him. A regular season and early Playoffs coach.

According to the PR department here, he's still learning his craft.
