If you have to plug in one backup guy amongst all the other starters it's usually manageable, and that replacement guy can improve and be helped by the QB. When it's all backups it's hard for anyone to step up above their level, and the QB can do little to elevate everyone.
Mahomes just last season beat the Niners in SB with 2 off the street receivers Purdy needs to be able to elevate these guys
Purdy threw a clutch 3rd down conversion to Conley in the NFC Championship game, who hadn't caught a pass all season. Stop panicking.
