It's because most fans don't realize what the backup qb position really is. They do a lot with game prep during the year and are really there to help the starter get ready. Also, to go in and play a couple games a year if needed. They are rarely the type someone thinks they can go through a whole season with.

not always but that's usually why you see scrubs like peterman, Allen, Curtis painter etc in the league for so long. Same thing with Blaine Gabbert etc.

they're usually like assistant coaches. We've had to get guys who can possibly help us win a Super Bowl cause we've had our starter stay healthy all year twice since 2017

My 3 QB's would be Purdy, Dobbs, and Tanner. If you don't think Tanner is ready and can sneek onto the PS, Then just go with two QB's. Can use that roster spot at another position.

TBH that'll be a really interesting decision - if we go with three qbs this year. We have some quality depth at key positions and it'll be interesting to see if we opt to have 2 qbs on the roster and keep a talented younger player.
