Defending screens and not using screens is my largest gripe

Thank goodness these sham they call games are over. The worst part of watching preseason games is the announcers do a terrible job of letting us know who's on the field. So many players shuffling in and out that it's hard for them to keep track and nearly impossible for the viewers t know who's in there.

One take away. Williams better get his butt back in there or Purdy will be a pot roast.

I don't mind them. It's the only time you see certain players get extensive play time. Gives you an idea about where depth guys are. It's the reason we know our tackles behind Trent are still awful in spite of the praise some have gotten.

I'm less interested in other teams because I don't know their rosters, but we wanna see your guys doing well. Imagine if guys like Bell, Gray, Latu, Anderson, Beal, Schrader, etc were cooking teams and not making mental errors. It doesn't mean they are stars, but it would say lots about our depth.

I would like to see the new players too but other than the QB and RB they don't kee you informed of who's in there. Plus 1st string against 2nd and 3rd string doesn't give you any real indication of how good these guys are. I liked it better when both teams started the game with the 1st string and then gradually brought in the backups.

Which broadcast were you watching?

It was fun. I was at the game. There had to be 60 to 70% Niner fans. I was near the field by the Niner tunnel. I got to see Bosa, Deebo, and Purdy warm up. Bosa and Purdy were signing autographs.😎

Did you get a sig?:). That is a good spot, I have had it before:). Crazy that those booths underneath are like an insane amount of money. You get a better view actually being a bit higher up from the field level booths. It usually is about 60-70% Niner fans when they play at Allegiant..huge amount of Niner fans in Vegas.

Yeah, that'll work. He's pretty short for an OL but has a very well suited skillset and extremely smart.

What position is he playing? Looks undersized. Can he play Center?

Awesome, too bad they won't cut a veteran and give him a shot.

You can be a little shorter at C and he's not tiny. Plenty of guys in NFL history at his height at C. That's not usually your tallest guy. Mark Stepnoski. Dallas dynasty years. 6'2" Center.

Screens are a natural counter to the wide 9. They'll always be tough to defend in this scheme.

Agreed. If Manning couldn't make it last year, Nugent has no chance. Zakelj will easily be the first guy they have backup.
I was going to ask if someone focused on how Nugent did. He did well last week. I tried to watch him some in 2nd half but didn't finish the game yet. It looked like he was doing well. The good news is we may be able to rebuild our interior line from this year. Puni is the only one they will trust to start now. Kingston and Nugent need to make the make the team so they can start at LG and C when ready.
Then we have to address at least one T next draft.like others,I'm afraid they will try to put both on the practice squad and get claimed.
Somebody else needs to go, Zakelj or Brendel

He's our future center. His short shuttle time was ridiculously fast. We will be able to stash him on the practice squad, I believe

I definitely wished the old formula was used- 4 preseason games where the time the starters played built up to the 3rd game, then it was just bottom of the roster guys in game 4.

I agree on keeping you informed of who's who. That's part of why I can only watch 49ers games.
