Niners are going to have 10 of their 11 starters on offense that they had week 1 last year. The only difference is Puni instead of Burford which is probally an upgrade.

On defense it's abit different but not as much as you would think. Last season week 1 our starting front 4 was Bosa, Jackson, Hargraves, Armstead. This year it's Bosa, Floyd, Hargraves, Collins. Upgrade at DE, downgrade at DT. Linebackers it was Warner, Greenlaw, Burks(I think). This year it's Warner,Campbell, DFF(unfortunetely). Corners it was Ward, Lenoir, Oliver. Now it's Ward, Lenoir, Yiadom. Safeties it was Hufanga, Gipson. On Monday it will probally be Brown, Odum. Huf will be eased back in.

Puni is more than "probably" an upgrade. LOL. On defense the secondary is almost certainly better and deeper at CB. New young guys at S make the loss of Hufanga not that bad. Defensive line had some turnover but it kind of washes out. They replaced it with some good veterans in certain roles they play. Linebacker is probably worse with Greenlaw out. But Dee Winters is pretty good. Not always great. I think we can do ok there.

My hope is the offense hits the ground running since it's the same crew. Usually defenses take a few weeks to gel as well.

There has to be some concern about how little the first team players played during the pre season. These early games can sometimes look really shaky. However I don't think the Jets starters played much either. I know Rodgers didn't tke a snap.

Linebackers are a weakness behind Warner and the interior DL I'm not sure on yet. We're banged up at DE2 so the secondary will need to step up.

Offense has weapons, we just need to protect Purdy well enough for him and our guys to make some plays.

Think it could be closer than expected, but I feel like we are still the better team.
