I think darnold is going to get wrecked by us. Giants are an awful awful team - he doesn't stand a chance against us.
i mean crazy stuff happens every week last year we lost to the vikings without JJ
Yeah, Kirk Cousins diced us up badly. it was a horrific performance by the defense. I think we will do much better this time around.
Darnold has a great arm, can make some really beautiful throws, but I think he will struggle against this defense. We will get a lot of pressure on him and have sticky coverage. I think he throws 2-3 picks.
49ers haven't won in Minnesota in like over 40 years. No matter how s**tty Minnesota is playing something funny always happens to the 9ers over there. So I wouldn't be surprised if Darnold accidently balls out.
Come to think of it… when was the last time either the 49ers or Vikings beat the other on the road? Feels like every time we play the home team wins (including the playoffs a few years ago).

Cowherd just said something that really stands out. The 49ers offense dominated with a 7th round receiver (Jennings) a 7th round QB and an undrafted RB. Pretty amazing that they were able to win like that without big games from Aiyuk, Deebo, Kittle and CMC.
A lot of "pundits" keep saying our time will come and we'll start sucking again… but they forget that we literally went to the Super Bowl 5 years ago without Purdy, Trent Williams, Aiyuk or CMC… and Bosa/Deebo were rookies.

I think there was some "getting stuff on film" going on last night to help their game plans in coming games. Yes, CMC was out, but that also let them get some heavier emphasis on some facets of their offense that could make life even harder for opposing teams:
-- Power running -- yes, CMC does it too, and the basis was still zone blocking on a lot of JM runs, but there seemed to be more straight ahead power runs
-- Deebo lining up again as RB. It didn't seem they were motioning him in and out of the RB position, just straight lining him up to run.
-- The passing game looked very basic
-- Getting Purdy on the edge with roll-outs -- but Jets seemed to counter most of those. It also seemed they ran 1 RPO?
What they didn't show -
-- I was surprised they didn't show Cowing deep more - did they at all?

I don't recall seeing Cowing out there outside of ST's. I know when Jennings went out for a bit it was Ronnie Bell. I think Cowing is going to get very limited snaps.

Cowing is probably a special teamer until we see otherwise
we saw on that rollout, so much respect for the run action had the entire D front going sideways and the wrong way toward the run action. Kyle wants to throw maybe 11 times a game ideally. saleh probably goofed by not selling out more numbers to run stuff between the tackles. it was pretty clear early on what we wanted to do and they seemingly had no adjustment. Deebo seemingly broke Sauce.

That Christian Ponder game still blows my mind. He was pretty much closing his eyes and tossing up ducks into traffic and his receivers inexplicably kept coming down with them.
Thats Sam Darnolds entire gameplan for Sunday
He'll most likely be on his back or running for his life most of the game come Sunday.
