CMC should sit this week. I don't know why they are even considering playing him.

gamesmanship to stay in Minnys head.

Yeah, same reason they considered it Monday..... They want the team to prep for the possibility.

I still have PTSD from the superbowl and Greenlaw going down with a torn Achilles which started from tendinitis. It's better to just let him rest and get healed or we lose him when it's more important.

Agree 💯 %❗️

I also have PTSD with Jerrick Mckinnon's situation too. It was almost the same circumstance as CMC.
I'm hoping Dee Winters is active for this game on that fast surface.

im really excited to see how this guy does in our scheme. I can't wait for him to get some action. I still doubt he plays this week but would be nice.

ive seen a lot of players try to punch balls out and I've always wondered how bad a backs arm hurt the next day from all those punches - has to hurt like a mofo.

Freds my fav niner LB ever

Really? I love Fred but I prefer Patrick Willis. Just like I think Willis & Bowman was better than Warner & Greenlaw.
both awesome though.

it may be bias, as well. 2011-2013 was the first Time in my life that I saw the niners good. I was like 6 when Steve young retired and I don't really consider the Garcia years to be a Super Bowl contender.

I kind of agree, but I'd probably go:
  1. Pat
  2. Fred
  3. Navarro
  4. Dre

Hmm I think thats fair. I think Pat& Fred are 1 & 2, for sure.

Dre has been doing it consistently for a while but him and Bowman are both amazing. Both have now had serious terrible injuries. I'm really hoping Dre comes back as good as ever. such a major injury. =/

All those linebackers are very good, and Pat Willis and Warner are greats. Navarro and Dre have had injury issues. Navarro's injury was a tragedy, as he could've had a HOF career. Dre, let's see what returns - love his last couple seasons.

That said, there's a little recency bias here. Some very important names to add to this list: Charles Haley, Keena Turner, and Gary Plummer. Ken Norton as well. Haley is a listed LB, and was prolific. Gary Plummer was a flat out run stopper and one of the smartest 49ers.

I can only speak for myself here but I was just comparing those four - there are a lot of other greats in niner history for sure. Idk how I'd compare them to others but I'm willing to bet that Pat is on top of the entire list. He was special from day 1.

I just saw this too.

I'm pretty sure CMC won't play on this turf. So with CMC out its pretty much even. There's no excuses for both teams.

Our depth at RB is better than theirs at WR.

Oh, I understand the gamesmanship piece for sure. But at this point, as Bassmanr stated, this is a long term concern. If he has achilles tendonitis, he should sit for like 4 - 5 weeks. The team has great options and can perform at a very high level without his presence. Also, it opens a roster spot for another piece.
Jefferson out more equals CMC, no?
The 49ers had a great LD in Dave Wilcox who's now in the HOF. Matt Hazeltine was really good in the 50s. They also had a guy named Hardy Brown that was so firce ball carriers tried to avoid him . He used to knock players out with his shoulder and forearm. Trying to compare these guys is tough since they were all probably asked to do different things for the defense. Let's just say the 49ers have been blessed with some really good LBs.

Check out my Preview of this matchup below!

I want to see Bosa and Floyd in the backfield consistently and make Darnold uncomfortable in the pocket and make mistakes. If Mason can replicate anything close to what he did against the Jets, I like the 49ers to win this one fairly comfortably.

Our defense is exponentially better than the Vikings. Theirs is middle of the road - ours is top tier.

their offense has some nice talent though
- Aaron Jones at RB
- Jefferson at WR
- Real solid set of tackles

overall, the NYG might be the worst team in football. No way in hell they have the same success we had. I think Darnold throws at least 2 INT.

38-13 Niners
