SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at MINNESOTA VIKINGS - 2024 Season Game 2

28 for 36 is 78% comp. How do you complete nearly 80% of your passes with 36 attempts if you're off? His pass protection wasn't good, and the Vikings are a great defense. Not sure what you expected. If this great defense had been able to contain SAM DARNOLD we would've won.

Was Odom benched or injured? He looked lost in zone

He's a special teams player. He's an awful safety. Brown is a below average safety as well. They have a lot of problems in that backend of the secondary

Seems like he was benched. Barrows said that no injury report was provided during the game by the PR staff

Huf will probally be back next week.
That one blown 97 yard pass play was the difference in the game. The 3rd down defense all game sucked

Cowboys got smacked. Ravens lost. Niners lost. Big teams went down. This happens every year. We're at that point of the season where the Vikings and saints are the Juggernauts and the teams from last year suck. It's ok everything will course correct by week 8

Holy s**t the Saints are averaging 45 points a game. I'm taking crazy pills

Derek Carr will Derek Carr don't worry. The night is darkest just before the dawn. Harvey Dent

Our safeties are slow.

Huf was slow before the ACL so I don't see how he gets faster afterwards

They had 23 points, you act like they had 40. The QB didn't make the plays he needed to.

With the score 20-14, and the 49ers needing to get a stop, the secondary did jack s**t and let the Vikings, minus Justin Jefferson, go on a 6 minute drive to effectively end the game.

They gave up multiple 3rd down (all game really) conversions on that drive, which ultimately ended in a FG.

They gave up a 97yd TD pass that was a killer as well. That at minimum was a 4 point swing (if Kyle had opted for the FG).

Did Brock play his best game, no, but the secondary consistently let Viking drives continue by failing to stop them (especially on 3rd down).

Won't be surprised if MIN goes undefeated at home but lose road games

Thank God. I'll take a rusty Huf over whatever the hell that was today
Unfortunately this team and run this last 5 years is going to be remembered as a defense that was top 5 that could never get it done on 3rd down. It happens every game where this D just cant get off the field. Minny was 7-12 on 3rd down, that is unacceptable for a top half D. How it hasnt been cleaned up by now is unthinkable.

Vikings pretty much always play well early on and then collapse down the stretch.
Tomorrow's breaking news "The Niners are confident CMC could be back after 4 weeks instead of 6"

I'll be very surprised if they go undefeated at home.

We were playing at 10am on a short week and were sloppy everywhere. Not a whole lot to draw conclusions from either way.
