SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at MINNESOTA VIKINGS - 2024 Season Game 2

Well that's why they have a week of practice between games to get better. Were you this dismal when we dropped three straight last year and still got the #1 seed?

The Vikings blanketed our receivers today. Not a lot guys open today. Brock had to throw pinpoint passes into tight windows.

I think I'll be that way until CMC is back. On passing downs, we have no pass catching threat out of the backfield so the D doesn't have to account for him much and the safety can stay in coverage

It won't. Shanahan can't just commit to the running game. Mason was crushing them and he opens the game with 5 straight passes.

One how was Mason crushing them before the game started? Two mason had 20 carries, how many more would of won us the game? The run game kinda has to disappear when you are behind in the 4th by multiple scores.

He had 30 carries last week. The game could have looked a lot different if we didn't rely on Purdy to throw 40 times and actually control the clock.

You usually run more with the lead and pass more when behind..... Kinda seems like the two games were complete opposites.... you dont pound the rock when you are down 2 scores in the 4th.
We just lost to one of the worst teams in the league. Vikes aren't winning more than 6 games this season

Not to be an assh0le but I watch the game and film and not the box score.

He wasnt very good in this game imo. Maybe when I re-watch film I change my opinion but doubt it.

Last game I thought he did not get the credit he shouldve (although PFF rated him #1) but in this game hes not getting enough blame.

Hes had tons of throws that were extremely dangerous. At least four turnover worthy plays by my count. He was fitting it in extremely tight windows for completions, something that just wasnt going to be sustainable. Tons of throws behind Deebo in tight coverage over the middle, one throw to Jennings had to be perfectly placed for it not to be a pick, etc.

It was like watching a Jimmy G game. Tons of throws over the middle that were completed but I was holding my breath on a lot of those.

To top it off, the coverage clearly confused him. He wasnt his usual self where he let go of the ball fast and made fast reads. He was hesitant, pulling the ball down and at least one (and likely two need to rewatch) sack was on him holding the ball too long.

That's our yearly thing. They usually put it together and go on a long streak too.

They look pretty good, especially the defense

I think you need to watch film before you can re-watch it. Nobody was open.

So you watched the film already?

Some people need to settle down too. Brock is 10000x the QB Jimmy ever was. What I was saying is that it felt like a Jimmy game. Ball being deflected and bouncing around defenders way too many times and most of passes going to the middle of the field with solid LBs. Van Wrinkles was feasting today.

I think lack of separation by his receivers had more to do with his hesitation than confusion but maybe I'm full of it time will tell.

Numbers are pretty but do not reflect what happened during the game. They scored 16 points and he the only one who has turnovers.
To imply that he's solely responsible for the lack of points scored is dishonest at best.

To imply that he implied that is dishonest at best as well.
