We need an outside guy. Hopkins fits that mold. Good RZ threat. I'm sure he'd love it get out of there.

I wonder how much is left in the tank.

Kyle's act is wearing thin on me, too, but this is ridiculous. Come on, man.

I would imagine he'll be too rich for our blood. I would expect Hopkins or Bourne.

We need an experienced guy who would be like a one-year rental while he taught the kids how to be a pro. Either of the two you mentioned would fit but I would prefer Bourne. Hopkins would be a bit more expensive.
Kupp's on the auction block.
Rams offering to pay some of this years remainder and I think his salary is 20 mil each the next 2 years, asking a 2nd

Middle linebacker. Love Dre, but don't think it will be the same. Fred needs help so he can do his thing. Back end safety. Love Malik as punisher but again don't see Huf in the mix. Need help with coverage off the top. Love Demo and the rookie. Then DT and Oline. Skills guys are good enough if Kyle schemes well and boneheaded mistakes stop. Rookies need to step up as some are already doing. Without help on defense I don't see us going far this year. We got hit bad out the chutes with injuries and it cascaded from there.

Would we trade a player to help the Rams?

I can't answer that but he's on the block.
Just accept that the window is closed and start a mini-rebuild next year.

The fact that we are seeing so many positions to trade for on this thread means that our team is out of the race this year.

I disagree. There's no point in continuing to dig the hole any bigger. It has been a rough season for San Francisco, proving that the Super Bowl loser hangover is real. Specific to WR, this team has invested heavily in the position in last few years and if none of these rookies are good enough then that says something even more telling. Kendrick Bourne is basically Chris Conley who is a decent receiver that isn't going to scare anybody.

In my opinion, this team has no choice but to roll with the young guys and hope it all works out. Jacob Cowing is an interesting one because, as a WR, all he's done thus far is show us he can get open in camp, pre-season and against NFL starting corners (on a good team). Lets see what we've got with him. Pearsall is a strange case but, you know, sometimes being thrown to the wolves is how you see if you've got something there. He looked okay all things considered.

If I'm SF, it sucks, but I'm not digging the hole any deeper.

The team is unprepared, undisciplined and playing under their abilities. We have probowlers everywhere and we look like a peewee team. You're not a genius if you kick fieldgoals every time you get in the red zone. The league has figured him out and we don't have an elite defense to bail him out so the losses are going to stack up
