Honestly, this feels a lot like the season after the superbowl with Jimmy. Everyone got hurt, many at different times. It hasn't seemed like "us" all year, even in the games we've won. Campbell has been horrendous filling in for Dre. Huff only seems to make it back for a quarter then he's injured again. CMC asked for a raise and then never played again. The entire offensive identity seemed to mirror him since he's been a Niner and they don't seem to know what to do with a normal RB.

Most articulate and accurate distillation. 1000%.
3-5 is the threshold we know we can come back from because we did it in 2021. The NFC is crap too this year. But a start worse than that and I think we done.

Has the league caught up to Shanny's coaching?

Boy....last year was our best shot at the SB and lost it on the final play. Who know's if we'll ever get back there again under Shanny/Lynch

He has one of the most expensive lineups in the league, he can't win with the dream team he wanted.

Time to move on

This regime has ran its course. Their best shot was last year and they blew it

Blew it by allowing the opponents best past rusher free to the QB on the most critical play of the game.

Same thing that happened today.

There is no learning happenin.

Just once i would like to see this team come out and just put a stomping on another team from the get go. Why can't we do that?

More than likely won't happen, but I hope that happens Thursday and when the Queefs come to town

49ers gonna be 2-5 going into the break. Watch and see if you have the stomach for it.

Yup, we'll get the crap beat out of us.....if a miracle can happen tho, please beg baby Jesus for that win

Mahomes and Andy Reid are going to ritually sodomize this defense. They might drop 40+.

The way this year is going we'll probably beat them by 30 and have no idea how to replicate it against Dallas the week after.

Bizarro world right now.

this may be weird to say, but beating KC by 30 would probably breath a lot of life back into this team

whereas if they get spanked for the fourth time in a row under Kyle by KC, I think this could have a final straw effect to break this team for this season

Is this a serious comment?

"Call me crazy but beating the chiefs by 30 would be a real boost"

in terms of morale. and specifically the Chiefs. but youre right its a very "no duh" moment. I just think people dont realize how important this game is in terms of morale. so even if they squeak by I think it would be a huge confidence boost versus any win against any other team.
Kyle needs to make changes. He hasn't really made any changes. I still see Campbell and Yiadom starting. He needs to play the younger, hungrier players. I don't know if he is calling the offensive plays still, but he needs to change it up and be more creative, especially in the RZ. He should have made changes after the Ram game.
Can't wait for some big brain fan to explain why running Mason against a league worst run d only 14 times while purdy drops back 40+ times was some kind of 12 --D chess smart plan

How do you lose this game seriously? That's two times with the Rams game that they lose a game that they shouldn't lose. Yes the opponents are lucky like with the Mason fumble at the end of the game but come on do better in the Red zone, stop killing yourself with dumb plays. Why Ronnie Bell was on the field? I know that there's a lot of players injured (Conley, Cowing and Pearsall) but Bell should have been fired a long time ago. Bad in pre-season, killed the Niners at Sofi. That's the type of things that I just can't fathom. Why Campbell is playing? I mean it really gives the feeling of the 2021 season where we had to wait for the second half of the season to have a team ready to win.

You mean the guy who fumbled in the RZ? Also I'm pretty sure they're one of the worst pass D's in the league as well. Outside of on big run from Mason, they bottled him up better than most anticipated.

1) well its obvious they were stacking the box

2) you don't know more than Kyle. He was playing 4D chess with them.

3) if Moody wasn't hurt we would have put 50 points on them.

4) it's not Kyle's fault. You don't know more than him.

5) if we fire Kyle now, it will be the Dennis Erikkson era all over again.

derp derp…

Funny how these bottom dweller defenses do a better job than most on "bottling" us up, but go back to their same struggles against other opponents…
