Did you miss the Bryce Young debacle? Throwing a QB out there isn't a great thing especially if you have a bad OL, nut much weapons and pretty much a horrendous offense.
I think he's missed the point, generally. I don't know of any QB you can point to that was thrown out there with no team around them, early on, and had success. Sam Darnold is another great example. There's so many more though.
Andrew Luck might be the closest, but he was not totally devoid of talent. Colts went like 1-15 or 2-14 or something like that the year they drafted him, and Luck with Reggie Wayne got like 10 wins the next year....it was Wayne's last run as a dominant player...I don't think he got close to 1000 yards again...but I am not a huge colt's fan.
I think we all have seen many examples of rookie QBs ruined by being thrown to the wolves.
Probably the best thing a team can do is 1. establish the line, 2. establish good WRs, 3. Find your QB.
Just wayyyyy too many examples of that working.
Ideally give that young QB a functional defense to boot......but let's face it...every team in the NFL wants talent everywhere....
