Nice work lol. I was definitely working backwards but was stuck on it being one name (player's last name)

I did feel that if you started at the end, and realized those last two letters were both "e", you would soon figure it must be Amp Lee.

I was grinding out H's, E's, SE's, ES'… i'm glad you revealed because I would have prob burned a lot of time on it, haha.
If you all do not mind, this is how this particular riddle/question came to pass:

Way back when I was in elementary school, my then best friend and I used to pass notes/correspondences to each other in class, written in Morse code.
It was fun. We thought we were cool doing that, and smart, as neither of us had any dreams of using it in any military outfit and Morse code was way out of date at that time anyway.

We have now lost contact. This riddle was in a way a tribute to our friendship way back then.

I could write two or three small stories about us, from then, that you might find interesting. Or, you might find, Not interesting.
So I'll leave it at that.

I look forward to Question 6 in December.
I will make it hopefully simpler, yet still challenging.

If I don't post again until then you all have a very happy and wonderful Thanksgiving Day and week!

Thanks again for all your time here!

Happy Thanksgiving! Nice tribute to your 'lost' friend.

The harder the question the better.
RE: Question 6

Hello interested parties. Question 6 will be posted

Tuesday, Dec. 3

5 PM (Pacific)

ALSO, I want to sort of poll the audience on something.
Are there many that frequent these boards in the very late hours of the night, even into the early morning?

I'd like to, on at least one of these 12 Days of Christmas, post a Question during a late midnight hour. Say, 10 or 11 PM, or Midnight, or even 1 AM.
Perhaps some of you work a late shift and you're at a desk with opportunity for a lot of web browsing.
Perhaps?

IF there is a small, appreciable amount of folks out there (4, 5, 6?) who would enjoy tackling a Name That Niner! question, at that late of an hour, then I would be up for it. But it would have to be on a select Friday night or Saturday night.

So, if you're game, just pop your head (screen name) in this thread and simply state a good late night time for you, and for either a Friday or a Saturday.

Thanks.

Your 1AM is my 7PM. That works for me but I would likely be in the minority. There are a few shift workers here though.

You in Japan?
QUESTION 6

The 49ers' most accomplished Young.
He was part of four 49er Super Bowl wins.

No. Not him.
Why did you guess him?

4 time champion with SF. Went to BYU
I see he won 3 Super Bowls with the 49ers as a player, and one as a coach.
Nice stab at it. And I learned something new about another former player.

Ah! BYU.
Pretty good guess SmokeyJoe.
You must have already been real familiar with him.
Really good guess I might add!
Joe Montana
Won 4 Super Bowls, Young is a QB, Joe is the most accomplished QB
