Joe Montana's name being associated with "gold" ties it all together perfectly!
- "Of noble properties, of prospects" refers to someone of importance or greatness, which Joe Montana certainly was as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
- "In days present, in days of old" refers to his lasting legacy both during his playing days and in modern times.
- "He's the only 49er, ever, whose last name's forged from gold" alludes to "Montana," which is also the name of a state known as the "Treasure State" because of its history with gold mining.
DOPEMAN. I truly appreciate all of that thought and effort you put into this. Joe Montana is not the answer.
Almost all of the questions were formulated from obscure 49er names.
Somebody out there will get this in an instant. Yes it is tricky. But for some minds, it isn't.
