EddieD held the coaches and players accountable. He maxed out Bill Walsh, forced him out when the time was right, then went on to win 2 more rings with Seifert. Maxed him out, the moved on to Mariucci who got the team in the NFCC game in his first year. If Eddie had been around after that time, I have no doubt the team would have carried out its success.

fast forward to today. A half assed owner focusing on revenue. Jed is ok with Kyle's mediocrity bc it sells tickets. Hoards of millennials and gen Z just happy to make it to the playoffs will dish out thousands of dollars, then be willing to do it over again the following year. "Superbowls aren't easy" they'll claim. "We tried our best" they'll argue. " Without Kyle it'll be 2000s all over again" they'll shout.

I miss EddieD. This franchise is a shell of what it once was

What other coaches do have in mind to replace Kyle? I'm more than half the teams would love for us to fire Kyle. He would be hired the next day.

Great. Let somebody else lose every big game and never win the Super Bowl forever. Take him off our hands.

Also, this is what all Eagles fans said in 2012 about Reid. How's that working for them?

This argument about Kyle is getting old. We get it. Some fans will blame the coach for every loss because they can't accept that players sometimes don't play well. They screw up and miss assignments but fans don't want to blame one of their favorite players.

One SB victory and one SB loss and a yearly playoff contender. I'd say it's worked out just fine…

They didn't need Andy Reid. Even won without him.

Andy has 3 SBs since leaving Philly.

Philly got one, are three coaches past Reid, with the current guy not looking so great right now.

3 > 1

Philly would obviously take Reid over Kelly/Pederson/Sirianni in retrospect.

Also... stop trolling.

And you can't even legitimately say "hey, maybe we'll get lucky somehow and he can get it done". Nope. Last year was that year, and he still crapped the bed. Our best chance will be when shanny is gone and we have a chance to get someone who can close out that game when the opportunity presents itself again. And yeah, theres always the chance that the FO f's it up and gets the wrong guy. Thats sports. We just gotta hope that we eventually find that guy who can actually get it done.

Eagles are about to be on their 4th HC when they always had The Guy in the building, they just never appreciated him. All he did was win endlessly with that franchise.

He's not as good as Reid obviously, but they should have been more patient with Pederson, too. Might be available for them to bring back this offseason...

I don't think he was that amazing either. They caught a spark one season where everything seemed to go completely right for them, other than that he's been meh and has been struggling in Jacksonville even though they have a solid amount of talent.

One thing Philly has going for them is you could have faith in their GM to find quality coaching and keep the roster talented.

Some of* our fans want to give more power to the wrong people.

I agree that it was a unique run. Aside from the SB itself being a true challenge they caught some lucky breaks with their NFC playoff opponents that year. Jacksonville is a mess right now, and I'm not sure you can even point to Baalke because as you say their talent level should be getting better results.

As much of a tool as Sirianni is they should probably give him at least one more year unless they think they can get a truly great new HC candidate. They should be going after Ben Johnson hard this offseason if they think they can get him.

It was those quality coordinators they haven't adequately replaced. Sirianni is a manager.

Disagree. They would have never won with Andy. The only reason Andy has 3 SB rings is because he has a guy that transcends his tendency to crap the bed. The Eagles made the right move by getting rid of him. Kyle might win a SB one day on another team that has one of those QBs that can take matters into his own hands and play outside the playbook. But he's damaged goods for this team. Best for us to move on. Find a closer that cans coach from opening kickoff to the final whistle. Not someone that shows flashes for 50 minutes then completely craps the bed when the opposing team puts pressure on him.

you just made the case that it's a QB issue more than a coach issue on winning championships

Looks like we have our QB now
