Is the Thursday night game against Seattle a make or break game for the Niners?

It's definitely important and would be hard to come back from a loss. This season feels like the 2014 season. After three deep playoff runs, the team was tired, players aged and the off the field drama was too much to overcome. This year just appears to be "off". Don't know how else to describe it. Maybe the long post season runs has worn this team out? Maybe with all the assistant coaches who have left, teams are more familiar with what kyle does or kyle just doesn't know how to change things up? The way to get back on track is to get back to basics. Line up and run the ball 30 times, quick easy passes to get in a rhythm.
If they lose and go 0-3 in division and 0-4 in conference the season is over. This team is trash so they'll probably lose on the road in seattle
This is a must win. We are likely going to lose to KC the following week so we have to be 4-4 going into the bye and beat Seattle and Dallas.
I think the cards was a must win.

They can lose this one and be fine

We're praying to be like th chiefs last year and sneak into a wildcard at the end of the season. Our receivers and kittle need to stop dropping the ball like the chiefs receivers did all last season and maybe we can make a run in the playoffs.

Don't kid yourself. The Seahawks were already looking at the niners on Sunday and hyped for this game. MacDonalds going to come in and smash us with the exotic coverage blitz dropbacks and confuse the hell out of Purdys. just like when he was with the ravens.

There's no one on the niners who can beat man one on one so it wrecks us. Every team is doing it to a degree on us now.

Our dopey linemen will have 5 on 3 and one dude will be free on the delayed stunt blitz because they're just confused. While blanket coverage with no man beating receivers eats purdy.

I think we are already too broken tbh. I do not have hopes for the SEA game and KC will embarrass the s**t out of us. They got Reid and we got Sunshine lol. They are going to cook the s**t out of this guy. Beginning of the end. Hopefully, regroup, make some good changes, good hires, signings and shoot for next season.

you can win this div with maybe 9 or 10 wins. LA has no receivers. SEA lost at home to Daniel Jones. ARZ is probably the best team right now. we have 75% or so of the season to get past ARZ. beat Geno. these are not good teams right now. shoot for next season you are being silly here.
Even if you're right is stumbling into the playoffs due to a weak division only to get obliterated by a quality team best for this teams long term future?

i wouldn't call it stumbling. you just want to make postseason. imagine we make postseason, and CMC is back at 100%. that's not stumbling. that's dangerous.

who is in the NFC? Lions, Packers, Boys, DC, Bucs, Saints, Vikings. These are the threats? They all seem pretty beatable. no true powers in this conference right now.

Even if the 49ers get back to the big bowl they can't win against the KC Zebras unfortunately. You know they want the 3peat and the additional Swifty eyeballs to push up numbers for next years ad sales.
Heck, about the only chance any NFC team has to win it is if Mahommes snaps a bone like a dry twig in the first quarter, and even then he will be allowed to play on crutches and they'll make up new 50 yard PI penalties for him on a 10 yard slant route, so it's not a lock.
I think this team just doesn't have it. Too many problems. Let someone else lose to KC.

This. People who are calling other fans delusional. That's nuts. We are watching a highly paid veteran team f**k up the first quarter of the season and dig a hole they will have a very difficult time coming out of. Unlike five years ago, this is not a young team that will play better in the second half. Instead, an older team will get tired and lose some games it wouldn't necessarily have done earlier in the year.

and let's not forget this defense is below average. It has some incredibly awful players starting right now

Watching KC and the injuries aren't slowing them down. They just keep on keeping on. No excuses for them just win.

They have the best defense in the league - 17 PPG, which is Top 5. Makes it easy on their offense. 49ers defense is giving up 21.2 PPG, which is right in the middle of the pack.

The 49er offense and Chiefs offense are actually pretty similar right now. 49ers = 25.2 PPG, 269.4 YPG, Chiefs = 23.6, 264.6 YPG. Both have 8 turnovers. Both teams have had trouble scoring TDs in the red zone - 49ers 40.9%, Chiefs 38.9%.

Both teams get penalized 49 yards a game.

One difference I found is that KC opponents get 61.6 penalty yards a game (ranked 8th), while SF opponents get 32.6 yards a game (ranked 32nd).

You can see these team stats here (link is red zone TD %): https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/red-zone-scoring-pct

The revenge tour of '24….all the teams we beat last year and the ones we did not beat are going to be laying it on us good and getting their revenge.

GB, Dallas, KC, the NFCW, Bucs, Lions, Dolphins, Bills….We are not beating any of these teams this year.
Honestly we are probably not going to top 5-6 wins.

A win would keep the season alive, but a loss would pretty much put a nail in the coffin and maybe we can start focusing on other things like rebuilding, replacing coaches, etc.

Making it to the playoffs is moot at this point. This is not a SB caliber team. We would probably get embarrassed in the Wild Card (yea yea any given Sunday, Kyle Shanahan is a genius on the playoffs, derp derp)…
The Niners are going to beat Sheattle and then go back home and beat the Chiefs. Our current crisis will be over quickly
