I'm all for bringing Saleh in, but I wouldn't expect much improvement with the poor talent we have on defense.

i don't think anyone is getting Saleh, at least, not in the near term. you gotta imagine the mental and emotional roller coaster he has been on. he may need some time to recharge the old batteries and plan out his next move.

Has a HC who's been fired at the beginning of a season gone on and coached elsewhere the same yr?
he's got another yr left on his deal that NY owes him if he coaches or not.

he got perp walked out of the bldg today he's gonna need some time to process what just happened. ain't happening folks. i like Saleh he has clear passion for the game and communicates with his players well. shame NYJ didn't work out. i sincerely doubt he had any say in his QB and he got saddled with Wilson then washed Rodgers.

Does he still get that money if he is hired by another team this year? Not sure if he forfeits it or if it just adds onto any other salary he makes.

99.9% of ppl think he'd do a better job a coordinating / adjusting than Sorenson at this time... Nick still wet behind the ears, let him assist and learn behind Saleh and let him assist in ST.

He is probably paid out the remainder of this year and whatever is the remainder of guaranteed on his contract. So yeah Silver is right. He won't join anyone this year. But maybe next year. Too late for us to fix this season.

I think they still get the money. I remember that Chip Kelly was getting paid from 3 places when he was with the 49ers. Oregon and Philly still owed him money. It's not like alimony where it goes away if you get married again. It's more like child support.

kinda....
Most of those contracts are stipulated that you MUST seek employment....yes the old team pays you, but you must find work.....you still get any guaranteed money..period....but the old team only pays the money that keeps you "whole". So if you were going to get 1m a season, but the new team will only pay you 500k a season, the old team is only on the hook for the missing 500k. New team pays 700k, old team now only pays 300k, new team pays 2m, old team pays nothing....you get the idea....
I have personally have never seen it not work that way...but I dont pay a ton of attention and could be wrong on that...

i don't believe this is the case this isn't unemployment. you don't have to seek anything. who would even enforce the must seek employment aspect? the club that canned you? can you give some evidence here? these are guaranteed contracts. you don't have to seek anything. they have to pay you to go away if you have money left on the deal.

Whatever the Jets owe him would be reduced by whatever a new team pays him. So unless some team is going to throw stupor money at him, like $10 mil a year then there's no reason for him to rush off to go find a new job and basically work for free.

2018 HC Hue Jackson was fired by the Browns and joined Bengals as special assistant. Pissed off owners bc he was with a division rival and there was talk about banning it from happening in the future but nothing was done at subsequent meetings
