Should we be sellers at trade deadline?

Giving up a 1st when they need it for a C, T or CB/S in the draft is a bad move, IMO. You're looking at a mini-rebuild this off season no matter what happens. It just isn't a year where trading for one piece will make enough of a difference.

In my scenario we technically would be getting 3 pieces back which would be huge for this team. Having Greenlaw next to Warner and putting Cambell in his natural spot as the 3rd LB and then having Lawrence take one of the DT spots or Garrett play opposite Bosa and then obviously get CMC to be the primary RB but this time he would be a part of a 2 headed monster with Jordan Mason. A win and those 3 moves could defintely right this ship even without Aiyuk. And obviously this scenario only happens if we win next week.

I just don't see how this team recovers once CMC comes back. It seems like the fans are banking that once CMC comes back, this offense will be a powerhouse. But that completely ignores that we still have a horrible STs and an avg defense. Plus can't rely on CMC's damaged Achilles to hold up all season.

We are in a very bad position. This is not the 3-5 Niners from 3 years ago that had a potent defense and a solid D coordinator and a serviceable STs that can make a deep run. This is an aging team with a stale offensive scheme. We are not getting home field. We will likely miss the playoffs, or squeak in as WC traveling to Detroit or Minnesota at some point.

Sorry folks, the dynasty is over.

What dynasty?

The dynasty reference is for the diehard Shanahan fans that think we're in the midst of our glory years and when and if Kyle gets fired, we will end up hiring Chip Kelly or Jim Tomsula and become a 4-12(13) team again. It's a myth spread by the Kyle bandwagon that he is the only reason we are and can be a SB contender. Therefore the current "success" the team is having is based on the sole notion that Kyle is the force behind it. It's in essence the definition of a dynasty to them.

IMO this dynasty is over. Time to move on…

Look at things objectively, this team cannot and will not ever beat the current Chiefs regime. So it's time to rebuild.

Trade Deebo
Get a new DC
Take away Kyle's play calling responsibilities

If you are Kittle, Williams, Werner, CMC do you even want to stay on this team? If you want a ring, no it's time to move on. Those guys should start asking for trade if they want a ring because none of them have all that many years left in their prime. Unless they are OK ending up like Gore, Willis, etc who wasted their HOF careers with 49er teams that could never win the big game.

This team is done, the window is closed.

Agree completely. We do need a rebuild....the only thing I'd add to your comment is that we also really need to fire the special teams manager.....our ST is awful. This to shed some bloated salary, spend the next 2 years reloading talent and getting younger and more cap space, and then we can be a serious contender again.

We're 1 game out of first. This is big loser energy.

At some point team needs to think big picture. This team, as currently constructed, is not going to contend for a SB. Will be lucky to even make the playoffs with the brutal schedule that's left. So what's the point of holding on to players like Ward for a few more games? If we can offload him for some draft capital that can help towards next year, then they should definitely do that instead.

This!

I actually agree.

Ward makes sense to move since I see them trying to retain Lenoir over him anyways. I am sure someone would want him and we could get a draft pick or two.

I think if we win next week, we still have a real shot because we more than likely will be having CMC and Greenlaw coming back after the bye.
That would upgrade both sides of the football and also if we do win next week and is confirmed that they are both coming back, we should seriously consider upgrading by the trade deadline, maybe Dexter Lawrence or even Myles Garrett. I know both of these guys are both of their teams top defensive players but both teams are not performing well and might be willing to sell. Garrett might require a 1st and a 2nd or a 1st and a 3rd , I think you could probably get Lawrence for a 2nd.

If we were able to pull this off after a win next week and then pick up one of these 2 guys our defense would be elite and we could really string some wins together.

A real shot at what though? If you mean a real shot at a playoff spot then I agree with you, I think that realistically could happen. If you mean a real shot at winning the SB, I just don't see that happening even with some injured players returning. It depends on what we can get for a trade, but if we can get a nice haul of draft picks then we should seriously consider it. Short-term pain for 2 years as we rebuild is worth it if we can be a serious contender for the SB again.

Forty Whiners indeed.
Only makes sense to trade guys that are on their last year if you think you can get a better pick now then you will get as a compensatory

All of our "stars" are another year older and a shell of the player they were in their prime. If we do give brock 60 mil, expect the cellar for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, we can't unload Ayiuk. But if a trade comes for Deebo, we need to jump in it. (Dependong on how much dead cap we have with him over the next couple of years. Also, the disaster of the Trey Lance trade up is showing this year.

Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? It's not like Shanalynch and their assistants look to the zone for guidance. If they did we'd have drafted Mahomes

I salute you sir. Would Mahomes have been as successful? hmm
Only if it's picks for a sizable upgrade on the OL.
