Should we be sellers at trade deadline?

Yeah, we can probably still pull out the division letting a player or to go when players like Greenlaw comeback.

Posters are confusing this thread with trade Kittle. Bosa, TW, Warner, etc
that's not at all what I was referring to. I'm talking about players that we will not be retaining either way at end of season.

and get what exactly. you lose your best corner for the year, Ward. and get what? if he's not under contract, who's paying for him. midseason isn't a great trade environment. this isn't mlb. team is very much in the hunt, even if we want to panic and think otherwise.

That would be up to Lynch to figure out. But, me personally, I would take a 2nd. You don't think some team in AFC would be willing to give up something like that for him? He's walking at the end of season. Maybe get a Guard with that pick or another DB.

And TBH, I think Lenoir is our best corner now. Have Green have his snaps and develop.

This is the one idea thats somewhat reasonable IF they decide to mail it in. I doubt we get anything more than an 4th though. No way any team is giving up a high pick.

Yes, let's be honest.

What do you honestly think the locker room reaction would be if Kyle/Lynch walked in and said "We're one game off first in the division, it's not even midseason, but we're going to start moving some of you on so we can build for next year."

That's why this thread is pretty pointless. We're not selling.
It depends on this next game. If we win, there's no way they become sellers. If they lose then yes.
Sellers in the sense that this year is going no where, but not the kind of sellers where next year is a rebuilding year. I think we can come back strong next year if we get CMC back, Purdy figures out his issues, and Aiyuk does what we paid him to do..

We can sell anything that won't help us next year and beyond.

If things were the other way around, you wouldn't be willing to give up a 2nd for a premier CB during a SB run?
we gave up a 3rd and 4th for a half a season rental in Emmanuel Sanders, during our SB run.

im just sayin

What you tell them is we believe in you Renardo Green to become the player we drafted you to be. We see great things in you. We believe you can hold down the spot opposite Lenoir.

To the rest of the team, get your head out your ass or your getting shipped too. Enough of capitulating to players and their feelings. That hasn't got us we're we are trying to go. Take a page out of Walsh and Belichick let players know the team is bigger than any player.
Rather than tuck tail and plan your next year lets strengthen some injured areas like WR and or MLB and let some health come back and give it a shot? We just lost to a generational QB. Don't think its time to over react. It would make more sense to plan for 15 years down the road when Machines is retired or over the hill.

Andy Reid is one double cheeseburger away from being out of coaching, there's always that. Haha

True, should be a no brainer if we lose to Cowboys.

Yeah, keep players that will help next year and beyond. And trade players that won't be in the picture soon, other than for a few more games this season.

I have a hard time believing we could get a 2nd for Ward. Personally I would take that deal and wouldn't consider it a 'giving up on the season' kind of move.

Who would you trade for that can help us get to the SB this year, or at very least help us make a deep run?

we have too many injuries.

Our schedule is f**king brutal.

Our ST and DC look like they're in over their heads.

iMO, we would be kicking the can down the road to be trading for any player this year. Ain't no miracle happening. We are not a Sanders and CMC away from being true contenders.

I don't think a 2nd would be too much for a legit CB. But that's just me.

from the acquiring teams perspective, they take on big contract, they get only 8-10 games, and they lose a pick which is a cheap 4 year contract player. also you have to acclimate the new guy mid game week during the year. that's hardly ideal.
