Drop back passing game

When is the last time we had an elite drop back passing game? When's the last time we had faith when we're down by 10 in 4th and had to sling the ball down the field to get back into the game?

I'd say it's been decades.. Since Garcia or Young, were the last 2 qbs who could truly play from behind to win.

Kyle is a great run game coordinator. But it's well known our drop back passing game isn't the best! It's a passing league and we lack a consistent drop back passing game. We win by front running and if we can't win that way.. Well probably lose.

that's the irony of JH and Kyle. while great coaches, they are ground and pound. the last time we were slinging the rock was Mooch era with TO. i grew up with Montana and Young and the pass game 49ers of Jerry Rice. hasn't felt the same.

JH and Kyle live to run the ball. I love it to! But the game is dictated today by passing the dang ball. I miss the days of Young slinging the ball with confidence.

You need a great oline in this day and age to have a great drop back passing game or a close to HoF qb.

Kyle shanahan was as never really great at designing drop back game. His passing game is utilizing space and build off playaction.

well considering lynch and shanahan can't scout qbs it's a moot point

at this point if we can't stop the pass or a running quarterback it will more losses .
