This. And if there coach wasn't retarded they would've been in the SB last year.

I feel like Detroit is peeking too early. Still half a season to go and It'll be hard to keep up that tempo and energy. That being said, they definitely looking like the team to come out of the NFC this year so far.

Either them or the Eagles in my opinion. Barkley is making things a lot easier for Hurts.
If the Lions stay healthy they are by far the best team of the NFC no matter what the Niners do because they are younger and hungrier than us.
Let's see how this week plays out but I am not expecting any major moves. I think the front office knows that this team isn't good enough to win a SB and our best bet is to keep as many draft picks as possible to reload for next year and the future beyond that.

I expect Purdy will play well enough to earn the big contract but not well enough to put the team on his back and into the playoffs.

Purdy can't play defense

Defense hasn't been the primary problem this year. It's red zone inefficiency, turnovers and special teams blunders. I'm not hating on Purdy. He's being asked to play hero ball and that has led to him forcing a few things and making a few bad choices. Overall he's been amazing and our best offensive player.

Even with him going full meltdown mode they had an opportunity but their WRs couldn't catch a cold.

Their OC choked hard, right?

I'm not sure about hungrier but you might be right. I do know that the Lions are healthier (sans Hutchinson), faster, and playing all around football better than anyone in the NFL. They are after half a season of football the most complete team I've watched. The only weakness I see is the QB.

One data point isn't a pattern... yet

That oline + the three-headed monster of Amon-Ra, Gibbs, and Montgomery will be tough to stop. Plus they have two good tight ends and Jameson Williams waiting in the wings They pwned us for most of last season's playoff game. We need to fight fire with fire. Don't know if we can with no Aiyuk and a hobbled CMC. Here's hoping Pearsall and Cowing continue to get lots of reps and develop fast over the 2nd half.

In the last 5 years they've had 6 top 20 draft picks. Five were in the top 15. That makes it easier to build a roster. Meanwhile during that period the 49ers were going to the NFC title game or to the Super Bowl. Drafting late every year.

While one team was building the other was trying to retain players and coaches.
We need a RT not sure if there's a plan to move Banks or Puni to RT but

He's just trying to equate Kyle's 3 SB and 2 NFCC game losses to Ben Johnson's one NFCC game loss.

Sipping that Cool Kyle Kool-Aid hard…

The Lions are Clubber Lang in Rocky reference. In all seriousness, they are playing like the 9ers used to.

should the 9ers be all in? What does that mean? I'm always for looking at ways to improve your roster. The 49ers need to get tougher in the trenches on both sides of the ball and they need to get healthy. Also, don't sleep on them bringing in an upgrade at Campbell's LB spot depending on how Greenlaw is progressing.
