The fact the Seahags were coming off a bye, Kettle being out, and losing Bosa didn't help the situation. It is like 2018 again, we can't close games. We need closers, and unfortunately, due to the Trey Lnace trade, we were not able to restock with top rated talent in draft, and this is the outcome. Current SB window has closed. Now time to see what we got in this year's rookie class, and see if we can reopen the window. Sucks that, most likely, the 30th anniversary of our last championship is going to waste, but hoping we come out firing next year.
Shenanigans needs to do better. I don't think it is time to move on, but some things need to change. Might be time he gets an OC.
His stubborn self won't get an OC
I like how the solution to our problems is mask our deficiencies instead of getting rid of it. Not to mention that the solution(s) offered will never happen…
There are a number of positives and negatives around this team. But what is showing right now is a couple things. The team is very talented, but frankly requires some retooling to get some more depth especially at the lines. There are some serious pieces missing (by the end of the game) in Bosa, Hargrave, Kittle, Aiyuk, Greenlaw, Ward, to name a few.
Look at what the Chiefs did when they traded away Tyreek Hill - we should have done similar with Deebo or Aiyuk. I believe the team had a great draft this year, but needs to log another one next year as well.
But the defense did their job in this game, end of game drive notwithstanding. The offense left this open - the run game seems stifled every week. And what happened to the other RBs outside of CMC... Further, the team seems less crisp and less prepare especially when it comes to penalties. There is a sloppiness going on, and it's pretty frustrating. Also, I wouldn't underestimate the Super Bowl hangover hitting this team.
There's a lot more to say, but perhaps a down year is just what the doctor ordered - it will allow them to reassess and restock. I'm still going to watch with great anticipation, but my expectations are dampened. I do want to see how all the rookies play, how Greenlaw and others return, etc. But who knows, maybe they make a great run to the wildcard.
