There is still a lot of talent. There is a lot of rollover cap going into next year. We have the ability to pay Brock and resign a few guys. Draft well and ad maybe one or two upper tier players. Have to upgrade a couple of coaches as well. A couple of vets are probably gone as well.

Really this is the key. They need a homerun draft. They've had so many bad ones that it has caught up to them.

Sometimes you need to combine Need and BPA together and stop making outlandish picks. IMO, Ricky Pearsall was an outlandish pick, Cooper DeJean, Zach Frazier, Jackson Powers-Johnson, Roger Rosengarten and Kingsley Suamataia would've all helped this season.

This.

Yep.

We just have to find good players that can hold up if our starters are injured. Going deep in the playoffs and SB gave our players an extra season on their bodies. Gotta give them some rest
Really like Puni and Pearsall for the future re-load.

Some of our stars have playstyle/game that don't age well and they have a lot of wear and tear: Kittle and Deebo. Once the explosiveness is gone, they will slowly have limitations like fullback Trey Lances out there. No agility in their game.

George Kittle is not that old at 31 for a tight end but I think he has more wear and tear than Travis Kelce cause all Kittle does is block and he likes to take and deliver contact. Same with Deebo. We might have to move on from our signature guys if they don't change their styles. I dont want to see Kittle used like he is recently. More like big fantasty football receiving threat. Same with Deebo.

lol what? This is the dumbest thing I'll see in this thread for sure.

We have no replacement for the man on the roster and just gave him a new deal and you want to get rid of him? Even to trade Trent 49ers would be taking a huge cap hit. They would only save money by trading him post June 1st aka after the draft that would help them replace a key piece.

Ben Johnson 2025.

get rid of the stale…

I don't get the Ben Johnson obsession. Brad Holmes built that roster and added all that talent. And Johnson clearly has some issues; who knows what happened in that commanders interview, but he tucked tail and ran back to Detroit.

The same exact people pushing him were pushing Josh McDaniels in 2020. Some folks just really like bright, flashy objects. He might turn out to be a really good head coach or he might flop, better, more hyped HC prospects have.

Going to go out on a limb and guess he doesn't make it to four conference championships and two SBs in his first seven years as a HC.

If that's the case, he'll have same number of Super Bowl rings as Kyle Shanahan…
Need a draft something along the lines of
1. Oline
2. Oline
3. Te
4. Oline
5. Linebacker
6. Corner
7. DE

You basically gotta assume at this point Trent retires, CMC, deebo, hargrave, ward, gone.

Just shotgun the oline with 3 picks and your bound to get 1-2 serviceable starters.

You need another tight end as kittles at the end of his game. We don't know if greenlaw is the same guy. If he is you sign him long term and you still need a 3rd lb.

Need another good corner. Sadly this leaves bosa on an island at DE. Maybe there's another spare pick you can put towards DE.

Trent could probably play till 45 if he really wanted to.

He's starting to get injuries. Not major ones but the type that start as you age. A game here and there becomes 3 games. Big guys can fall apart really quick when it starts because they're supporting a lot of weight. Feet, ankles and knees take a beating just walking when you weigh 300+

Need to restock both sides of the trenches, have you seen the run D lately?
Rebuild* most of the players on this roster are old and getting to the twilight of their careers, if they're not already. This was inevitable, and the 49ers did not take advantage of having a stacked roster for the last 3/4 years. Absolutely shameful

it is what it is. They need to treat it like they just took over again. We need a great draft.
A reload is necessary. This team has played almost an extra season when you add in playoff games (including SB's) over the las 5 years. There is a ton of wear and tear on players, stars especially. I'm no GM but, the OL needs special attention when you are talking about Brock. Our run D is approaching atrocity levels. Need a couple LB's; Deebo is not only being affected by hits more often now, he is dropping balls; seems now the D backfield is showing signs of effectiveness. Need WR's who can get separation and our usual RB finds in late rounds and/or FA
Oh. A new DC and someone who can create plays for Kyle

7th round picks don't usually mean much but I'd take the best available QB and start developing QB's now that Brock Purdy cemented himself as the starter. We can shy away from crap veterans like Allen and Dobbs now.

yes, and Kyle needs an Alpha to run the defense; someone who doesn't require babysitting, and has a proven system. Kyle has too much on his plate the last two years.
