If hypothetically we move on from Purdy, what other options do the 49'ers have?
1. Draft a QB?
2. Use one of our backups?
3. Trade for another QB?

Other than Purdy, do we have another legit QB option?

the options all suck. that's the problem. we saw how easy the draft is, we threw 3 ones at the problem and got zero for that. so the draft is not easy. no other QB on roster is a real guy. so you get Daniel Jones or some other QB who failed. meanwhile Brock is a leader and forging ties with all our guys in the locker room. so he will get the contract. it's just a shame we had a historic and i mean historic window, of his 900k rook deal and we did jack.

Do the 49'ers have an option not to extend his contract at the end of this year so we can assess him for another year?
If we don't extend him, what does that contract look like?

I think based on Purdy's very average performance this year it's very realistic to have the ability to assess him for another year if we do have that option?

it would be very hostile action. he gets dramatically out earned by the punter. he's been QB1 since 2022. he makes nothing. his throw arm blew up. he had to have no real offseason and he got thru it. he is owed a deal. it would be moronic imo. you would lose the locker room. he can get a case of my back hurts and i'm not available week 1, and so forth. then you don't have QB1.

Who cares. If we are moronic enough to ditch Purdy we deserve another Lance.

He then becomes a FA and we pay even more.

this is nonsense. we picked brock over Sam 16 times. Sam costs dollars. we made our bed here. what's the point of giving all this game action and reps to Brock and then throw him away? it's years of experience with our guys and system just in the trash. i don't understand why we would be doing that. start dobbs and see if he's a guy in that case. but we ain't there man. brock is very low on our list of worries. i don't fear the contract, i just realize it's a huge window missed. can't replicate that window. but these deals aren't fully gtd. there are outs all the time. that's how NFL is.

What team do you think would want him?
He's short and lacks arm strength.

Every team without a franchise QB already. Every single one.

Anyone who thinks we should move on from Purdy is basically asking for another 2015-18 era. Couldnt imaging asking for that personally, but some people are more comfortable rooting for s**t teams.
