Hitner should be our DC.
Lol at Dobbs as the starter against GB. Nope. Not Allen either. Purdy is going to play, I have no doubt about that. A sore shoulder isn't gunna keep him away.

Why? Not that our DC is good but what makes Hitner qualified? It's like when people said Sherm should be our DC. Neither have the experience in coaching to merit that kinda position.

Hitner or Sherm? I'd do it! both of those guys are legends, they both excel at their jobs. I'd take a leap there. Wilkes and Sorenson are both uninspiring.

I don't know if Whitner would be a good coach but the real question is does he want to coach. I say this because if he did you would think he would already be doing it at some level. Coaching takes a lot f time and some players just don't want to devote that many hours to the game once they retire. Lott would have been a great coach but he wasn't interested. These guys spend hours trining and practicing in order to excel and once they retire some don't want to spend that much time devoted to football. Sometimes it's the reason players retire.

good points, and yes coaching definitely takes time. I know Sherm said he'd do if asked, and I know realistically, he has no experience, but he's smart and I can't imagine he'd want to do anything if he didn't think he'd be good at it.

sherm is out of his dang mind
It would be nice if theNiners could just keep a DC for more than 2 years. The problem is if he's good other teams want to offer a HC job. KC has made their guy one of the highest paid assistants in the league at $3.5 million. Still way less than a HC but they've managed t keep him.

That's because spags has no interest in being a HC

"Still, he is holding out hope that he will get another shot, and wants to prove himself capable of handling the role."

Yeah I mean..if I were opening a fly fishing shop in Montana that was open three days a week, Sorensen might be inspiring

I doubt that if it's really the truth, this is his longest tenure as a NFL coordinator with the same team, just shows how comfortable he is.

but hey, f he wants to leave.. go for it spags

I am not a fan of Sherm the Worm. Sorry, not sorry. Wouldn't want him on the team, yes, that crazy outburst he had trying to bang a door down has something to do with it. Not mentally sound enough for the position..again, sorry not sorry. Plus, he still wears Seahawks hats, f**k him lol.

I don't think anyone has requested to interview him for a HC job since he got canned.

he said he wants to be a HC again, but he hasn't gotten the opportunity.

it's not managing to keep him, no one wants him outside of being a coordinator.
