Niners need to retool( not rebuild) but focus on getting younger in the process.

where did you get that number.. it's probably closer to .05%

That bubble you live in must be a fantastic place.

Talk about 'making things up'. Some of these guys are convinced we're in the midst of a dynasty 😂

Find ONE person who thinks this. Just one.
We're still a team that can contend when healthy, but as long as we have KS10 we'll never win the big one.
Well, probably a combo of both. I think last season we were ranked 30th oldest average players NFL. That needs to improve and we must nail this draft. FA losses next week will be interesting.

Honestly to me I want two guys back who are UFAs.

Greenlaw and Jaylon Moore. The rest I'm perfectly fine letting move on.

I will be curious who we bring in though. If the Chargers cut him, I'd love a double Bosa setup but not if he's looking for big $. Cute story but we know his health history and that's not getting younger.
You can call it whatever you like. I'd like to see this team transition out the old core and start trying to find the new guys. This means I'm okay to see Greenlaw go, or Ward go, etc. I don't think we should be looking at another old, aging pass rusher (e.g. Bosa), or an old WR (e.g. Adams). It's time to rip the band-aid off and move forward. The Shanahan-era 49ers have been generally quite good at roster management but they really harmed this team with the contracts they gave out last off-season.

Show how the contracts have harmed us

Thing is with those moves you're not likely signing them to 3+ year deals. Could be 1/2 year deals which are easy to get out of and likely don't put a major strain on your cap. You need some vets and key ones would be wise ones to make. Question is which ones and whether other teams would be willing to give those guys more guaranteed $.

How large is your crystal ball that tells you the 49ers will never win a SB with Shanahan as HC?

Clearly moon sized.

For fun, I extended it out two years.

Last Season
Trent Williams (because he's injured)
CMC (because he's injured, and getting old for a RB)
Brandon Aiyuk (based off one good season, the 49ers don't throw to him enough to just his price, his attitude during negotiations, injury)
Yetur Gross Matos
Maliek Collins

Prior Season
Javon Hargrave
Restructured Deebo Samuel

It was a series of epic fails. They had a choice last season to keep getting younger, like the Chiefs do, btw, or adding veterans. They chose the latter and it backfired spectacularly. Like I said, the Lynch/Shanahan era 9ers had done a decent job in the past but the magic hasn't been there lately. The team needs to shed these guys (i'd keep Trent, obviously) and get younger. This version of the 49ers roster was the early 90's Buffalo Bills, and it sucks, but lets face reality and move forward.

The saving grace here is that the 49ers have some good building blocks already on the roster. Brock Purdy has been getting a lot of mixed press lately but he is a good QB and that matters. On defense, the 49ers have Bosa, Warner, and Lenor, all great players.
