DC & STC Replacement Ideas

Updating OP with candidates listed:

DC
Robert Saleh
Jeff Ulbrich
Jim Schwartz

STC
Darren Rizzi
John Fassell

I don't know many, if any, who don't feel like both Sorensen and Schneider need to be replaced. It's easy to call for a firing, but it's another thing to offer solutions/ideas -- I've got some of my own. Let's discuss.


DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR
My top two DC candidates are:

Robert Saleh - many of our guys know him and love him. Jets defense has fallen apart without him. He knows what he's doing and would be a huge upgrade.

Jim Schwartz - runs the wide nine and a great man scheme. Would mesh perfectly here. Cleveland may fire their HC meaning Schwartz could be available.


SPECIAL TEAMS COORDINATOR
One ST coordinator I'd love to bring in is John Fassell from Dallas. Has a great unit on a bad team and has had great success a number of places. McCarthy ain't coming back and I think he could be available. Would be a huge upgrade over Schneider.

Thoughts? And any other names you would throw out there?

if we keep with Shanny how about Lynch hires a DC and we get someone on the O side for GM to assist Lynch

I'm tired of sticking to a particular defensive scheme and want a DC who can scheme the most out of the players we have. I get there are not many if any coaches who can do that with defense, but that's what we need. If a new DC wants to fire all the assistants and or bring in his own then Kyle should do that.

ST I like your idea, but certainly we need to throw new coaches at the wall and see who sticks.

Saleh would be an obvious choice. Maybe Cowgirls will give up Zimmer but I doubt it. There is Belicheat? Lol. I still kinda want Hitner if he was interested in coaching lol. Shorts, of course, isn't a bad idea if he is released. Haha maybe Pete Carroll can come back to SF. Guess we will see but man, surfer Sores has to go.

I like the idea of saleh and Schwartz.

Saleh isn't coming, Schwartz not sure he will come here. if he does, i can't say everything would be solved in the first year. He may leave to a HC after

People hated Saleh the first few years too

i dont think Sorensen is bad, but if an upgrade is available, you'd have to look into.

imo, I don't think we move on from Sorensen yet. Especially with all the injuries

People hated Saleh when he had a fully rebuilt d he was dealing with his first 2 years and the same people who b***h and moan about everything when things aren't looking perfect. Sorensen also doesn't have the dline depth Saleh and Ryans had and is stuck with sorry ass Campbell when Saleh and Ryan's had Warner, Greenlaw and Al-Shaair. If I'm Kyle tho I'm going to Jed and telling him to open up the check book for the best available DC and ST coach and if not John needs to do what got this team constantly in the final 4 and that's relentless depth on the dline

I've been saying Schwartz should be the guy for a couple months now. He has some overlap with the scheme Kyle wants, would likely keep our methed out raccoon D-line coach, and Kyle has to respect the guy after Schwartz's defenses have consistently owned him. Jim would bring stability and a track record of solid defense that wouldn't deviate too much from the way our brain trust likes to play D. This would be my choice.

I like the idea of Schwartz. Dude has been running the wide nine forever and is a hell of a coach. Kyle really needs someone he can entrust the defense to and be completely hands off. I just don't know if he'd mesh well personality-wise with Kyle. Maybe that's what the coaching staff needs, tho. Someone that will give Shanny a little pushback.

It's too bad Brad Seely retired. He would have been my top choice. We haven't had a quality ST coordinator since he left.

I think it will be Jeff Ulbrich if Sorensen is sent packing like he should be. They tried to get Ulbrich this off season and there was mutual interest from Ulbrich too. Both Shanahan and Ulbrich have also worked together in Atlanta too.

How about an OC who can install a running game that will for sure kill the clock when we are ahead in the 4th quarter?

possibly, knows the system a lot more that he was under Saleh

I have the feeling Saleh has no intention to come back under Kyle
Ulbrich is more plausible
Schwartz will not mesh with kyle.
