DC & STC Candidates

Something that should be mentioned, interviews to satisfy the Rooney Rule provision must be done in person. Virtual interviews are not enough. Thus far, the Jaguars have conducted nine virtual interviews and one in person interview(Saleh, the only one not under contract with some other team.)

Regarding head coaching jobs, teams must conduct an in-person interview with at least two external candidates who are people of color and/or women. Virtual interviews don't satisfy Rooney Rule requirements, per the NFL.

It was reported that Johnson and Coen were the favorites. They couldn't hire Coen until they interview at least one more minority candidate in person so as to be in compliance.

Due diligence with the defensive minded guys. I still expect them to go offensive there

Seems like a stretch.

That makes the most sense.

At minimum Jacksonville is required to interview at least one more minority candidate in person to be in compliance.

So Patrick Graham and Saleh satisfied the two in person minority candidates. sounds like it is down to Coen and Sakeh, because I don't know what Graham brings to the table.

Patrick Graham hasn't interviewed in person, it was a virtual interview. Which would not satisfy the Rooney provision.

As of today, Saleh is the only Rooney qualifying candidate that they've interviewed in-person. Thus they are not in compliance.

Well f**k
This is pure insanity. Our season ended a while ago and no one has been signed. You actually believe these coaches would rather go to rebuilding franchises than to come here? Does no one want to work with Kyle's arrogant a**?

I don't see them hiring Saleh, it might be close but I don't see it. Liam Coen gonna get the job bet on it.

So bringing Saleh back to interview, means one or two things: 1) Saleh and Liam Coen are the two finalists 2) Balke is trying to screw the 49ers
So disappointed in them not landing a big name ST coach. ST could be an issue again in 2025

Saleh will be the DC unless he gets a head coaching job. If he does then Brandon Staley will most likely be the DC.

Once again, Baalke is not in charge of the process. The next HC is being hired by the owner and will report directly to the owner.
